HerRebirth
In the dimly lit room, Julia Quinn clutched her chest as excruciating pain coursed through her body. " Mmm... Yes... That's it, baby... Harder... Ah... Fvck... Yeah... Nelson!" "Rosy... You're too sweet." Despite losing her sight, Julia could discern the two voices without difficulty. If someone had told her that the two people she cherished the most in the world would betray her in this way, Julia would have vehemently disagreed. "Rosy, we should keep it down. What if Julia wakes up?" Nelson whispered. "Who cares if she does? She's as good as a corpse anyway," Rosy sneered. They proceeded with their shameless act, their bodies glistening with sweat, panting and gasping as they reached their c****x. Julia struggled to maintain her composure. Since they assumed she was asleep, she could feign ignorance, but eventually, tears streamed down her face. Nelson was her husband, the man who vowed to spend eternity by her side, and the woman in question was her sister. How could she continue pretending when her whole world was crumbling? "Rosy..." That single word drained the color from the duo's faces. Could it be that this good-for-nothing had been listening the entire time? To verify if it was true, Rosy leaned closer to Julia, scrutinizing the disfigured face as she hurriedly fastened the final button on her vintage dress. "Even after a million years, I would never have imagined the two of you could be so shameless... Rosy! How could you... Do you even have a conscience?" It was to save Rosy from a fire that Julia ended up in this state. While Rosy only sustained minor injuries, the impact of the blaze caused Julia to lose her eyesight and left her physically disfigured. The guilt on Rosy's face gradually dissipated, replaced by a sinister expression. "So what if you overheard us? Do you think you can change anything? And as for the fire, who do you believe orchestrated it? I knew you would swiftly jump in to rescue me, and you didn't dissapoint" Rosy taunted in a mocking tone. "Ah!" Julia's expression shattered when she heard those words. It felt like a knife being twisted in her chest. She couldn't believe that the girl she had treated like a sister was actually a cunning and devious person. As Nelson remained silent, Julia weakly called out to him. "Nelson... this must be an illusion... ri-right? You and Rosy didn't betray me. You... you love me, right?" But instead of the comforting words she had hoped for, a cold and ruthless voice filled her ears. It was not the voice of the man who had promised to protect her from the world, but one filled with pure venom and hatred. "Love you? Even at the brink of death, you are still delusional. Just looking at your hideous appearance makes me want to vomit," the voice taunted. Julia struggled to breathe. The pain was too much ..too much to bear. "You promised me... you said nothing could ever come between us," she whimpered, her lips trembling as tears streamed down her face. "That was when you still had value to me. In truth, Rosy was the woman I loved all along. You were only a means to an end," the voice spat out with disdain. Julia gasped in disbelief. She had sacrificed everything for Nelson, even giving up her dream to become an actress. But in the end, he had only seen her as a tool. His heart had never belonged to her. Her heart sank when she felt something cold press against her neck. "Please forgive me, Julia. But for me and Rosy to get married, you need to die," the voice said with a hint of regret. Julia trembled in fear. "You... you want to kill me? Aren't you afraid someone will investigate my death?" "Tsk. What's there to investigate? Everyone will simply think you grew tired of life and chose to take your own life. No one will suspect us," the voice chuckled darkly. As the knife was thrust into her chest in one swift motion, Julia gasped in pain. Her body gradually became still as warm blood flowed from her chest. In her last moments, the realization hit her that her only worth to Nelson was as a pawn in his game. She had been discarded and forgotten, a mere casualty in his quest for love and power. Her wide eyes betraying disbelief as she realized that her closest loved ones were also her killers. ******* The beep of the alarm startled Julia awake, her face slick with sweat as she sat up in bed. What surprised her more was not the sudden burst of energy in her weak and failing body, but the return of her restored vision. Her arms, once marred with ugly scars, were now smooth and flawless. Still in shock, she unlocked her phone and glimpsed at the date on the calendar. Julia's hand clutched her mouth, stunned at the realization that she had been transported four years back in time. At this point, the disastrous fire and many other life-changing events had not yet occurred. Tears of gratitude streamed down her face as she recognized that she had been given the chance to right all the wrongs she had made in the past. This time, she would make her abusers pay. Even though she was already engaged to Nelson, they had not yet wed and she still resided with the Quinn family. As she remembered the events of this day, April 23rd, Julia's determination only grew. This was the day she was meant to audition for an important movie role, one that could have jumpstarted her acting career. But due to the conniving schemes of her rival, Rosy, the role had fallen into her dishonest hands. But not this time. Julia promised herself she would not let history repeat itself. But before that, there was something else she needed to take care of. Getting out of her pajamas, she quickly showered and changed into a simple outfit before heading out of the house. **** An hour later, Julia arrived at the civil affairs office. Her eyes were immediately drawn to the tall figure who had been waiting there for a while, dressed in a sleek black suit that accentuated his muscular physique, he was a sight to behold. Despite exuding a distant and reserved disposition. His chiseled features and sexy lips were enough to drive any woman crazy. This was none other than Alexander Wright, the CEO of SKY group. They had encountered each other numerous times at public gatherings, but at that time, her attention was solely on Nelson, and she regarded Alexander as a rival. Now, she couldn't help but gaze at him with admiration. He surpassed Nelson in terms of appearance, and there was an air of enigma surrounding him. "President Wright, we have been waiting for Miss Reynolds for over an hour, and now she is unresponsive to our calls. At this rate, I doubt she will arrive." The assistant standing behind him reported. A crease furrowed Alexander's brow, his gaze turning darker. "How much time do we have?" The assistant checked his watch. "An hour. The civil affairs office will soon be closing." Julia exhaled a sigh of relief, pleased to learn that the events of this day remained unchanged. If Alexander failed to marry today, he would lose half his shares in the company to his cousin. Just as now, his betrothed, Gina Reynolds, had failed to appear, resulting in the shares being transferred to his cousin. Yet, he still posed a formidable threat to Nelson. With determination, Julia approached him. "President Wright, it appears your fiancee may not arrive, and you require a bride... why don't we get married?" His assistant stood still in shock, while Alexander raised an inquisitive eyebrow and sported a sly smirk. "If I am not mistaken, you are Julia Quinn, Nelson's fiancee. Why should I trust you?"
