📖 THE SILENT BRIDE
Episode 2: The Room of Secrets

> “They say love is patient. But what if love is watching you, controlling you, and hiding something in the basement?”

🌧️ Scene 1: The Basement Door
Amara didn’t sleep that night. Her heart beat like a clock gone mad.
She sat up in bed, the silk gown brushing against her legs. Jason lay beside her, breathing softly. Peaceful. Almost… too peaceful.
She turned toward the hallway again.
The voice had stopped hours ago.
But the image hadn’t left her mind:
> A small hand.
A child’s whisper.
The locked door at the end of the hallway.
She rose, barefoot, careful not to wake him.
Tiptoeing past the chandelier-lit hall, she found the door again. It was cold, metal, and had four latches. No label. Just silence behind it.
She bent down.
Then paused.
A child’s drawing peeked out from under the door. A paper. Crumpled.
She picked it up. It showed a woman in a white dress… and red tears falling from her eyes.
The words below the picture made her chest tighten:
> "Help me, Mama."
"He's lying."

☕ Scene 2: The Smile That Doesn’t Reach
The next morning, Jason served breakfast like nothing had happened. Omelette, juice, and that gentle, too-perfect smile.
“You’re so quiet lately,” he said. “I know it’s hard, losing your memory. But I’m here. We’re together now. That’s what matters.”
Amara forced a smile. “I found a drawing under the basement door.”
Jason froze, just for a second. Then chuckled.
“Probably something from the past owner. This mansion’s been here for years. You’re just imagining things, babe.”
Babe.
He’d never called her that before.
Her hands tightened around her cup. Something in his tone felt rehearsed.

🧠 Scene 3: Flashback Flicker
Later that day, Amara stood before the mirror in the guest room. Her fingers touched her hair… and suddenly —
> A FLASH.
A scream.
A woman’s voice yelling, “Let me out!”
Jason’s voice: “You made me do this!”
A second voice whispering: “Don’t trust him, sis…”
She staggered backward.
Was it a memory… or her mind breaking?
She opened the closet for a breath — and her heart nearly dropped.
Inside was a dusty old photo album. She flipped through it.
Photos of Jason smiling beside a woman who looked exactly like her… but had a nose ring.
Amara didn’t.
> The name on the back: Maya + Jason – Engagement 1 year ago.
Amara’s hands shook.
> “Wait… if I’m Amara… why am I in these photos as Maya?”

🕵️♀️ Scene 4: Detective Rena’s Move
Elsewhere, Detective Rena Cole watched footage sent anonymously to her phone.
It was grainy… but clear enough.
Jason was holding a woman’s arm, forcing her into a car. She was in a wedding dress. She screamed, "I’m not her! Let me go!"
Rena’s eyes narrowed. “That’s not love. That’s a trap.”
She made a call.
“Put surveillance on Jason Ward. I want that mansion watched day and night. I’m getting a warrant.”

🗝️ Scene 5: The Final Moment
That evening, Jason handed her a glass of wine. She pretended to drink it, then dumped it while he stepped away.
“You’ll feel better soon,” he said. “I’ll take care of you. Forever.”
After he fell asleep, she crept back to the basement. This time… she noticed something different.
A key, taped under the staircase.
Her fingers trembled as she picked it up and held it against the cold lock.
> Click.
The first latch opened.
> Click.
The second. Third.
As the fourth clicked open… she heard something behind the door.
A child’s voice.
Breathing.
Then a whisper:
> “Hurry… before he wakes up.”
