Chapter 9

RUBY JANE'S POV

***4 Years Ago***

"Sign the divorce papers!" I heard my mother screaming as soon as I opened the door.

Divorce papers? My parents are going to have divorce?

What! Why? They were just okay last week!

I decided to hide on the wall to hear their conversation. Just what the hell is happening?

"Monica, let's talk about this I have already showed you the evidence that her child is not mine!" My father answered and I saw him holding a piece of paper.

My mother suddenly slapped Dad as I gasped hearing the crisp sound of that slap. "Kahit na hindi mo yun anak, it doesn't erase the fact that you cheated on me!" My mother said and my eyes went wide. My-my father cheated?!

My father? How could he? Since young, He has always been my role model. He wouldn't be able to cheat!

But then I can't help but feel betrayed as I feel my eyes burning in anger.

"I'm sorry Monica it's just one drunken mistake years ago. Please don't do this think about our daughter. She's still so young, don't you want to give her a complete family?"

"One drunken mistake?! You think I didn't know? You meet her a lot of times after, I have my proof!" Mother then get something like envelope and throw it to my father. It was obviously containing pictures.

"..And how dare you use my daughter. Have you thought about her? Us? when you cheated on me. You jerk, hindi ko kayang manatili sa iisang bahay kasama ang gaya mo!" Mom furiously said as she slapped my father again.

"Hurt me, slap me and release your anger but please Monica, don't do this. Don't leave me!"

"We will go back to New Zealand away from you. I can't believe you could really cheat on us! If you don't want your daughter finding out your cheating ass then sign the divorce papers" My mother said while my father shake his head crying.

I came out from my hiding spot with tears streaming down my face. "I already know!" I shouted and they were surprised seeing me.

"Ruby Jane! Wh-at are you doing here? Don't you still have classes?" My mother asked nervously. Yes I still have classes but my teachers sent me home earlier because I'm not feeling well.

I didn't answer Mom and glare at my father "I hate you Dad!" I screamed and run away as I hear them shouting my name.

I run and run until I can't breathe anymore as I stopped on the sidewalk still pouring my eyes out. How could my father cheat on Mom?! He always told me he loves Mommy so much yet he still cheated on her!

I looked around seeing unfamiliar infrastructures.

As I have been running aimlessly without looking at my destination I didn't notice that I have reached a place that looks secluded..

Where am I? I wiped my tears and the anger I'm feeling earlier was changed with fear because I'm in a place where there isn't much people and house around.

I walked around for a while waiting for taxi to pass by but after waiting for half an hour, nothing still came. I looked around nervously as I saw two people coming towards me.

Seeing that it's two men my nervousness increaseed as I tried to calm myself down and wait for them to pass by me.

But then when they reached me, the two of them scanned me up and down as I noticed something in their eyes.

One is smaller and other one is taller "Miss Anong ginagawa mo sa lugar na to?" The taller one asked looking at my legs as I'm wearing my uniform (skirt).

"Go away" I tried to make my voice firm but it came out as a squeak and they laugh.

"Let's have some fun Miss" the smaller one said. Seeing his face I can't help but cringe seeing his ugly face.

"Just go away please!" I can't help but feel helpless seeing their lustful gazes.

"Miss beautiful is crying~" they mocked and the taller one grab my arm.

"Mukhang naka jackpot tayo neto!" the smaller one said excitedly looking around.

"Wag ka magalala Miss sigurado namang magugustuhan mo ang gagawin natin. Sisigaw ka sa sarap!" he whispered as he caress my legs and I scream and slapped him. He looked at me angrily and slapped me back.

"You b***h!" and I almost fainted on that slap.

"Help! Help me!" I called for help as they drag me somewhere.

"Walang makakarinig sa'yo dito!" The taller one laugh as they started ripping my clothes.

"No! Please don't do this!" I cried as I tried to struggle. What the hell is happening!?

First I found out that my father cheated on my mother and now I'm going to be a victim of r**e.

But before I could completely lose my hope I heard a voice trying to stop this two men. "Hoy anong ginagawa nyo!"

"Bakit gusto mo makishare sige ba, ang ganda nito di ka magsisisi!" The smaller one laugh as I backed away scared.

"Gago!" The newcomer shouted punching him, the taller guy was surprised and tried to fight back but the new comer quickly dodged away and kick the jerk in his gut. He screamed in pain and kneel down.

The smaller one glare at him and bring out a small knife making my eyes widen.

"Watch out!" I scream but before he could react the jerk stabbed his side.

"No!" I scream and push him away as I tried to catch the falling body of my savior.

"Bwesit! Bakit mo sinaksak!

"Pabida eh!"

"Bwesit tara na! Baka may dumaan na iba!"

"Call an ambulance!" I told them but they only looked at me in panic seeing the blood and run away.

What the hell!

"Hey! Hey! Don't close your eyes!" I said as I tried to put pressure on his wound. As something caught my attention.

LIAM was written on his name tag.

"O-okay lang ako, Ika-w?" He asked me instead

"You're wounded! How could you say you're fine!" I'm still panicking

"Where's your phone!" I said as I searched his pocket and thankfully it's there. I have left my phone in my bag and it's in the house, I left it.

I quickly opened it, thankfully it doesn't have password. "Kailangan kong umuwi" he tried to stand up but I stopped him.

"No! Let's bring you to the hospital first and get you treated!" I said and dialed the emergency number as I asked this guy where we are because I'm not familiar in this place. After a while an ambulance came.

They quickly apply first aid and brought him to the stretcher as he is losing too much blood.

Thankfully when we reach the hospital he was quickly assisted and the doctor who assist me said that he's fine. I went to his room and saw him resting. I can finally breath in relief as I put down his phone on the side. I looked at his face and I can't help but notice that he is actually quite handsome.

He was so handsome to be exact, his face is fair and looks like he didn't experience having pimples. He's not just handsome but also so kind. If he didn't come on time I don't know what have already happened to me.

"Thank you Liam" I whispered remembering the name written in his name tag.

I wrapped the cloth around me tightly given by the nurse earlier seeing my state. Checking the time I decided to go out and go buy us food while he's still not awake. I went to buy outside as I know the hospital foods are the worst and I also went to buy new clothes but as I went back to his room he was already gone, even his phone. I panicked and asked the nurses passing by if they have seen him but they only shake their head.

I sigh helplessly and went to the counter to borrow their phone as I called my parents. They were of course so worried when they found out I'm on the hospital but I explained to them what happened.

They pay the bill and we went home.
