Chapter 6

1306 Words
We arrive at Stone Shadow Pack around 4 pm and head straight to the guest house to start preparing for the party. If I have learned anything from my mother, it is that do not bother a woman when she is preparing for an event. Let them have all the time they need.   My mom and sister rush upstairs to start all of their primpings. My father, my beta, and I unload the car of the billions of bags of luggage that my mom and sister brought for a weekend stay.   “I guess we should also start getting ready,” I say grabbing my bag and ascending the stairs to go get ready.   I quickly get into my room and shower quickly. I change into my custom-made Brioni suit. Being of Italian descent, clothes have always been my thing. Being a child of my mother and father, they taught me that being an alpha is not just want you are capable of doing but also how you present yourself. I take my presentation very seriously.   I give myself one last look over in the mirror before I head downstairs to join my family.   “Mio amato figlio, , sei così bello.” My mom says as she looks up at me.   “Grazie, mamma,” I reply. I know she loves it when I indulge her with my Italian. Although I do not speak it often, I am proud of my heritage.   “Well let’s get this show on the road. I have been beating my face for the last two hours, and I want someone else to see it besides you guys and these walls.” My sister jumps in as she rushes for the door.”   “Oh, my love I can't wait until you find your mate.” My dad says as he and my mom chuckle behind her.   “Let’s go find our mates.” Emilio raises his hand up to fist bump in which I gladly bump. He and I are two peas in a pod; we tend to sow our wild oats regularly. We are both in no rush to find our mates but understand the importance of needing one before we can take over.   We load into the car and head to the pack’s ballroom. Emilio and I immediately separated from my parents and sister as we head in the direction of the bar in the back corner. We always have our routine, watch and observe.   Kenzi POV   After getting back to the packhouse, I had to listen to my mom lecture for almost an hour about my injuries and how this was going to be horrible with all the visiting alphas coming to see me. It took two hours and me completely healing before she would calm down and allow me to get dressed.   Stella and I decided we would get dressed in my room and Jaxon would meet us at the party. Stella went to her room and showered and would come back with her dress and make-up bag. I normally do not do makeup, but because it is a special night, I decide to bite the bullet and let Stella do what she does best.   I quickly jump in the shower and wash off all of the blood and dirt from my skin. I use my honey cocoa butter body scrub from Lush. Normally, we do not go into the human world often, but being the alpha, we have to maintain a steady income for the pack, and opening a few malls around the world was the way to do it. So, I end up in malls trying things more and more. Being of Italian descent meant that fashion and shopping were naturally in my blood.   I finish up, dry myself, and moisturize my skin, I slip on my oversize t-shirt and panties. Wrapping my hair up and heading into my room, I see Stella waiting to get started on my hair. She squeals excitedly as she loves when she can get her hands in my hair.   “Ok, so I am thinking we should were your natural curl in an updo. What do you think?” Stella says as she removes the towel from my hair.   “I hand the hair and makeup over choices over to you. I trust you, Stella.” I take a deep breath and close my eyes and allow her to do what she does.   “Ok, open them,” Stella says.   I slowly opened my eyes and stared at my reflection in the mirror. I gasp at the reflection which I saw. I never expected my curls to be so tamed and my eyes to pop with such excitement. My hair was in two flat twists on each side and collected into a low curly bun pinned up. This showed off my perfect rose gold diamond teardrop earrings.   My makeup held the same classiness as my hair. My eye shadow was a rose gold eye with thick black cat eyeliner. My green eyes looking mesmerizing against it. She finished my lips off with a deep red matte finish lipstick. I was beyond eager to get my dress on!   When I picked out my dress a while back, I wanted it to be something that called to me. It needed to say, I am a feminine lady that still had an edge over me. Being a she-wolf from an alpha line, people assume me too docile and timid, but I am everything but.   My dress is a mermaid fitting, crimson red, with a deep v-neck in the front with spaghetti straps. It is covered in crimson sequins that are placed all over the dress to look like delicate flowers. It is finished off with a high-side split. In the front, it is all “Luna”, but it is when you see the back, you understand how it is all me. WILD! The back of the dress is an open corset back with thin crisscross ties dipping to my hips. It continues the crimson sequins flowers all the way down the train of the dress.   “Oh, Mio Dio, sei bellissima principessa!” My father said as he walked into the room. I knew he was about to choke up because the Italian started.   “Daddy…” I looked up at him in the mirror.   “Max do not start!” My mom cut in. “She cannot ruin her makeup. Give her the gift so we can get downstairs, the guests are already in the ballroom.”   “Principessa, I know I was always tough on you as a kid and I did that to make you stronger. Even though our relationship has had its challenges,” he looks over to my mother with sad eyes, “you have been nothing but great for this family and this pack. We would not be where we are if you had not been strong for the pack at our weakest time.” He says as he hands me a black velvet box. “Always know that the pack will be with you always.”   I open the box to find a breathtaking rose gold geometric origami wolf howling. “Oh daddy, it is beautiful,” I said as I turned for him to place it around my neck. It stopped just below my collar bone and I rubbed it as my eyes started to become misty.   “Oh no you don’t,” Stella said as she started to fan my eye to stop the tears from falling.   ‘Let's get this show on the road.’ Jax mind linked. ‘I am heading to the ballroom now.’   ‘We are heading down now.’ I replied.   I grabbed my father’s hand and we headed out of my room towards the ballroom.
