Chapter 18

Kenzi POV

If I ever knew life with a mate would be like this, I would have started looking ages ago. I never imagined I would be willing to compromise on being the alpha to my pack alone. Now let’s be real, I am not becoming one of those women who are attached to men. NO!

What I am is willing to see the value in a partnership in order to do what is best for my pack. Do I still believe I can run my pack without Cal? Yes, but I understand he will strengthen my back with his abilities.

“Makenzi, where have you been?” My mother squeals when we enter the room. She immediately stopped in her tracks and sniffed the air. “You scent had changed!?!” She looks at me then Cal, and over to my father. “You have been marked and mated!” She clasped her hands together.

“Ok mom, can you not be so extra.” I rolled my eyes at her. My dad frowned at me and then at Cal. “Mom, Dad, we are not doing this,” I growled at them.

“Kenzi I am so happy for you, that’s all.” I rolled my eyes at them while Cal chuckled. I swatted his chest.

“Sorry Honey, you look so sweet. I almost want to get you up right here.” My face turned red as a beet. Cal kept laughing as he kissed my cheek.

His parents walked over and greeted up. “Son are you ready for this?” He reaches out and clasps his shoulder.

“Dad, I have been ready for this day for years.” He smiled. “Let’s get this show on the road.” Cal turned and kissed me on my cheek. He followed after his father upon the stage.

Watching Calcipher take the Alpha oath with so much pose and commitment, made my heart flutter. His pack truly loved him and was proud to have him serve as their alpha. They howled and cheered as he drank from his pack ancient chalice.

‘I see you watching me.’ I heard his voice in my head.

‘How can I not when you look so handsome.’ I looked over at him to see him watching me with dilated lustful eyes. ‘Down alpha. I would hate for you to get too aroused standing on stage in front of your pack.’ I giggled.

‘Oh, you are going to get it tonight.’ He said in a thick husky voice as he closed his eyes.

“Wolves, I now present to you my son Calcipher Alexander Black, new alpha of the Black Moon Pack, along with his alpha Beta Emilio Romano and Giovanni Rossi at his Gamma. I know under their leadership, you will all flourish.” Luciano, Cal’s dad, addressed the entire pack.

“Thank you, dad. I only hope to live up to the work you have done in the pack.” He said to his father. “Now everyone, I would like to introduce you all to my mate. She is currently the alpha of her pack and therefore will join our pack as Alpha Luna. We will merge the packs and become one!” Cal announced as howls were heard all around.

“Mackenzi Stone can you join me on stage to meet your pack.” He held out his hand to me. I proceeded to walk up on stage. As I joined him on stage and grabbed his hand he pulled me into him. “I am proud to welcome the Stone Shadow Pack to our folds and look forward to us continuing to grow together.”

“I am happy to join your pack and merge the two,” I said loudly. “I hope with this merger, you are able to continue to prosper. Take the time tonight and get to know your new pack members and find our mates!” They all howled in excitement.

“You all heard alpha luna. We will get together in a month to do the official swearing-in and merger of the packs.” Cal stepped in. “Let’s prepare for the run!”

“Are you ready?” He turned to look at me.

‘Please, please, please! I need to stretch my legs.’ Storm yipped in my head.

“I am and Storm is also.” I laughed. “Tell Demon to keep off and not try to mount me in from of the pack!”

‘Fine! I will behave!’ Demon groaned.

“He said he will behave.” Calcipher chuckled. “Wolves to the woods!” He announced as he turned to his pack as he jumped from the stage.

Although everyone quickly shifted in front of each other, I moved to behind the dressing curtain that was set up; Cal was beside me. It is normal for us to change in front of each other, but alpha males can also be very possessive of their mates, and therefore to keep the peace, I opted for the easier route.

As I slipped out of my desk and hung it up, I turned to see Cal undressing beside me. His perfectly chiseled chest made me want to run my hands down it. I wanted to kiss it and rub it. I felt myself getting excited just at the thought of him.

‘Careful, keep those thoughts to yourself, we have a run to do.’ Cal mind linked me as he turned around in only his pants.

“How much of that did you hear?” I questioned.

“Enough to know that I want the same, but I must complete this run before we do anything.” He rubs his hand down my face.

I unclasped my bra and let it fall to the ground as Calcipher released a throaty purr. “Oh, you tease.”

“Catch me if you can.” I shift into my white wolf and proceed to run towards the trees.

‘Honey, I don’t think you were ever taught not to run from an alpha’ He chuckled in my head.

Before I knew it, I saw a black shadow cast under the moonlight. Shifting my eyes, I see grey eyes staring back at me. I knew exactly who they belonged to. I slowed down in order to come back around the back of him. As I maneuvered through the trees and crept slowly behind them, I was determined to surprise him.

I felt a nip on my tail. ‘Looking for me.’ He laughed in my head.

I immediately pounced on him and we rolled around the ground. ‘You scared the s**t out of me.’ I shouted.

‘Oh Honey, I didn’t mean to scare you. I was just having a little fun.’ He laughed. He then moved in to muzzle up next to me. I licked his face to show that I was okay with him.

‘Let’s get back to the run and we can enjoy ourselves away.’ I said to him.

‘No need to worry, I have already told Emilio to lead the rest of the run so we can enjoy ourselves.’ He leaned in and rubbed against me. ‘Demon really wants to take over.’

‘Okay, it is only fair that Storm and Demon get to know each other.’ I said. ‘ Let’s give them tonight. I would see you in the morning Calcipher.’

‘Agreed. Good night, Honey. See you in the morning.’ I saw his eyes turn completely black and knew it was time for me to release Storm.

‘Storm, it all you girl. Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do.’ Sliding into the back of my mind, I allow her to take over.
