Giovanni POV By the time night arrives, Giovanni has yet to put the thoughts of Anna out of his mind, despite having told her that she doesn’t interest him. Specifically, his mind keeps returning to the way she undressed that morning at the hospital, staring him down before her innocence got the better of her and she rushed to put on the clothes he brought in order to cover herself. He remembers the blush of her cheeks. The way she tries to be defiant but has eyes that still see the world around her with innocence and wonder. She still believes in not harming innocents for the sake of power, and she continues to get herself in trouble with him and his father because she simply can’t do as she’s told. And inexplicably, that behavior sends a jolt through his nervous system, lighting it up
