Chapter 49

“I have enough of your foolishness!” Satan said then a pillar of flame conceals him.   The marksmen are all out of ammo. They all reloaded while the mage hurls boulders towards the pillar of flames. After reloading they remained on standby   “Get ready I’ll remove the boulders.” “On three” the mage said.   The mage lifts the boulders and the marksmen fired once more.   “Stop firing!” Eve ordered.   “Why?” Roxxy asked.   “We’re just wasting bullets.” “I think the demon fled” Eve informed.   “Guys should we head back?” Roxxy asked.   The consensus was split to whether retreat.   “I think we should proceed, we’re already here and it is such a waste if we head back” the mage proposed.   “He’s right.” “We should assist anyone especially those who are already injured” a marksman said.   “But if we continue, we might run out of ammo.” “We exhausted most of them earlier” another marksman said.   “If we only have an assassin with us, we can ask someone to bring us supplies” Roxxy said to herself.   “So, am I a joke to you?” Mark said.   “How long have you been there?” Roxxy asked.   “Not too long, let’s just before you guys started cuddling up” Mark informed.   “We need ammo ASAP!” “Location towards the battlefield” Mark said using a special communication technique.   “There! Now that’s out of the way let us go.” “Help me penetrate that ice barrier, a mage is trap in there together with a demon” Mark said as he takes the lead towards the battlefield.   Mark threw several explosives that leave a huge dent in the barrier.   “Focus on that dent!” Mark ordered the marksmen. “And as for you come with me to the main battlefield” Mark ordered.   The marksmen focus fire at the dent while Mark and the mage went on their way.   “No, Dean” the mage said as he saw Dean severely injured.   “Continental Divergent” the mage casted a spell   The terrain split into two trapping the giant serpent. Mark then threw his remaining explosives directly at the serpent’s head.   “Make a staircase for me!” Mark ordered.   Several earth pillars rose that aid Mark’s landing.   “Don’t worry dude I got you” Mark said as he assists Dean to stand up.   The serpent recovered and began to strike but an enormous pillar made of terrain struck the serpent’s head. Mark then used the opportunity to escape.   “Continental Shift” the mage casted   The terrain split. Mark’s half moved towards the mage while the other went the opposite way.   “Continental Convergent” the mage casted   The terrain then crushes the serpent.   “I think that’s enough to make it busy for a while.” “Bring him to the city so he can be patch up.” “I’ll stall this oversized worm for a while” the mage said.   “Hey, don’t die.” “I’ll be back soon” Mark said as they went on their way.   The serpent slowly breaks free.   “Not on my watch” the mage said to himself.   “Sinkhole” the mage casted   A huge sinkhole was made that trapped the serpent and the terrain that was covering the serpent started crushing it once again. The mage started feeling exhausted. Several minutes later the serpent started ramming the debris.   “Continental Rapture” the mage casted with his last remaining strength   Then there was an explosion   “Farewell friends” the mage said as he accepts his fate.   “Looks like your friends are outside helping you” Asmodeus informed.   “With or without their help I can breach through this ice barrier” Solomon seems determined.   Solomon tried several more attempts.   “If I were you I back of a bit.” “You’re draining too much of your mana.” “I am actually impressing that you lasted this long.” “But don’t worry I’ll revive you if you die” Asmodeus praised.   “Too bad Asmodeus but now isn’t the day.” “Arcana Lightning Burst!” Solomon casted   Lightning struck the entire barrier slowly cracking it. Solomon plummet as soon as his spell finished casting. Asmodeus burst to catch him.   “You fought well, now rest” Asmodeus said.   Then her entire barrier shattered   “Asmodeus looks like I destroyed your impenetrable barrier.” “Now fall back, a promise is a promise” Solomon said.   “Just so you know you’re not the one that destroyed my barrier it is actually Aaron” Asmodeus said as she gently places down Solomon.   “But you did contribute” Asmodeus said.   She then snaps her fingers. The remaining demons immediately vanished, and all the wounded were healed by ice magic.   “Asmodeus why?” Solomon asked.   “I am just doing my part of the bargain.” “Plus, you’re not the one that we are after. We have bigger prey to catch.” “I hope the next time we meet you can keep up with me rather than going all out” Asmodeus said.   “Till we meet again Solomon Maldive” She said before vanishing.   The battle completely subsided and there were several casualties. They all head back to the city carrying along them the dead bodies of their fallen comrades.   “We should make a list of the casualties and do a head count.” “I hope everyone else are safe” Tyrone said.   “We should group up according to class.” “Per class there should be one check. He or she should update it as soon as someone arrive.” “We should deal with the casualties as soon as everyone arrives” the elite strategist said.   The class representative made their rounds in checking the attendance. An hour passed; Commander just arrived.   “Is Samantha here?” Commander asked.   “I am over here!” Samantha shouted as she waves her hand to catch Commander’s attention.   Everyone grouped up near Commander as he approaches Samantha.    “Sorry milady but I have searched the entire area but still I didn’t find the Duke.” “I am sure that the bright light that wiped out the hoard of demons is his doing” Commander said.   “But you’re, together right?” Samantha seems pissed.   “Don’t be too hard on him Sam.” “Commander did help us in the battlefield when this gigantic wolf showed up” the elite assassin said.   “But I think he got his handful facing the demons’ leader.” “A lady wearing a cloak just like the one that destroyed our city” Commander informed.   “What! Don’t tell me there are two of them”. “I was just lucky that we made a bet” Solomon said.   “So, you’re saying that you’ve face her?” Commander said as he starts thinking.
