"Okay no problem" I said as I pay my g*n.
"Well then let's get a move on" Draxx ordered.
On his lead we went head straight to the powerplant
"Looks pretty devastated" I said as I observed the entire room.
"We must go to the Chamber where the precious stone is located" Draxx ordered.
Draxx hurried inside and we tried to follow him. Then Class C demons are blocking the path
"Don't!" I shouted to stop the assassins from attacking the demons.
"What now?" Draxx seems pissed.
"We don't need to attack them because they are just Class C" I said bragging.
I walked straight at the demons and none of them even showed signs of aggression.
"You see they are harmless" I blabbered.
Sora then followed my lead and the same thing happened then the rest of the group followed.
"How did you know that those demons aren't going to attack us?" Draxx curiously asked.
"You see I have certain categories to tell whether the demons are capable of harm or not. Those demons fall under the Class C. C is for counter, they will not engage unless felt threatened" I informed.
We arrived at the chamber doors and we heard this wail. Sora immediately opened the doors. We saw Ricardo down in his knees.
"Dad!" Sora shouted as she entered the room.
"No Sora don't!" Ricardo shouted.
Then a lance was heading straight at Sora. With lightning-fast speed, I blocked the attack. I was surprised to see the lady I bumped into earlier. My assumption was right someone is carrying numerous fragments.
"Tell me, who are you?" I furiously asked.
"Raijin transform" the lady said.
Then the spear I am holding transformed into a huge wolf monster. I immediately fell back and tried shooting it down, but it seems it is not fighting back. Moments after they suddenly vanished.
Sora went straight to his father.
"Dad what happened?" Asked while crying.
"That woman just stole the precious stone powering our city and my ring" Ricardo told Sora.
"Draxx do you think she is the one that stole the precious stone of the wall?" Ricardo asked.
"No Sir the one that I encounter is a man" Draxx informed.
"Now Sora promised me that you will take care of yourself Daddy isn't going to last long.
"Be tough okay" Ricardo's last word.
"Daddy!" Sora shouted.
I wanted to comfort her but Draxx made it to her first.
We all head back and Draxx ordered an urgent meeting.
(Inside the session hall)
"I am sorry to inform you that three of our precious stones had been stolen. First the power plant is destroyed and the stone that provides power had been stolen. Second the stone fortifying our walls had been stolen. Lastly the Mayor's ring that provides fire had been stolen as well, Ricardo died in the process" Draxx informed the officials.
"So, what do we do now?"
"Who is going to be the acting Mayor?"
"What are we going to tell the folks?"
Questions that have been raised during the discussion.
"For now, we must find an alternative source of power. Our generator will last three days tops" Sora said.
"My men and I will handle the town's people. We will spread the news to the entire town, and I am willing to offer my stone as a power source" Draxx said.
"So, you will be the Mayor?" An official asked
Then someone barges in an important meeting. He immediately grabbed all the attention.
"I will take his place" I said with full conviction.
"And who are you supposed to be?" An official asked
"I am Chris Sterling" I boastfully said.
"Why do we need to trust you? You are just a stranger" an official said.
"I trust him."
"He did save us from the verge of death earlier" Sora said.
"He is also knowledgeable about the demons. With him in our side our troops will be much more efficient" Draxx followed
"Besides, I have these" I spilled my bag full of Elemental Fragments.
The room suddenly changed its atmosphere.
"Where did you get those?" The officials seem shocked.
"That's the precious stone of our wall but it looks different, and it is much bigger" Draxx got awfully suspicious.
"This is my precious stone, see the resemblance?" Sora seems amazed.
"Look he also has an electricity stone and fire stone" the official was all amazed.
"Do tell us why you have these many stones" Sora asked.
"Well, my family is the descendant of the Elemental Shards collector. Those precious stones you are pertaining to are known as Elemental Fragments, parts of an Elemental Shard."
"You see I am on a quest to complete the Elemental Shards in order to stop this war."
"That's why I wanted your necklace so badly" I said.
"I see but I will not give this to you no matter what, besides, you have one and it is bigger than mine" Sora said
"I will not take it for now but when the time comes, I hope you will give it to me wholeheartedly" I said to her.
"Now fix the power plant and I shall supply electricity. I will also fortify the city walls and provide fire for the locals" I informed.
The assassins went on their way to spread the news moments after the locals started constructing the power plant.
I gazed upon the entire city from the Mayor's room then I heard a knock on my door.
"Come in!" I shouted.
"Chris, may I have a chat with you?"
"What's with you acting as Mayor suddenly? Please tell me your true intention" Sora asked while holding my hands and looked me straight into the eye.
"Well, I just wanted to help you that's all. I pity the locals and tourist here in the city" I said with full conviction.
"Is that all? Come on you can trust me" I said to get on her good side.
Then she looked at me with wary eyes. I had this strange feeling inside me, so I told her my true intentions.
