Chapter 42

They started to make their way into the tower as of now, but the moment the Queen stepped into this old ancient looking place, it was then that she realised how truly stressful this entire situation was. Darkness surrounding every where, it was all black and the only way she could walk sufficiently without tripping over her legs was because of the great eye sight that Flower had. It just smelt disturbing and at the same time the cold wind that was blowing through was harsh. Every thing was just awful. Slowly the Queen turned around looking at her best friend who was very much excited about meeting her mate. She had nothing else in her mind and not at all about what she was surrounded by.

Evi couldn't blame Genie for that. Evi knew she was not here with a purpose at all, not like her best friend was.

"This way my Queen." One of the guards here was taking them all towards a different section. Although, she could not help but this the distance that Ginie had to cover to get to this place, and to come here. Every thing here was so dead. But of course, if it was her mate here, she would come without any trouble. But the distance, the atmosphere everything was just so crude. There were cages every where around them, but not many of them kept. Most of them empty. .

Most of them were afraid of the Queen, while the rest of them very interested to see her, there was a sense of excitement to see someone else, other than the same old people.

"It is so wonderful to say the Queen here, we heard that you had a crowning, my queen. But never got to see the kind of beauty that you are truly...." A man let out, a bold and very large that stood by the cage, staring at her up and down, and a smirk growing on his face.

How ever, right there and then, one of the wolf who was right in front of the queen, it immediately grabbed him by his hand, trying rip it out, growling in anger and the man cry in pain. Evi couldn't help but think how he should have shut his mouth.

"Stop it. I think he has had enough." Evi said and without thinking for once, the wolf did exactly as it was told and backed away, not wanting to disrespect the Queen's demand.

Quickly then they walked away from there.

"He is right there........" Genie let out, pointing towards the last door and it was not a cage there but a cell entirely standard here. The Queen walked up, but the female guard, she was not sure about this.

"My Queen, I think he will not hurt me or his mate. I can take care of myself, I wish for everyone to stay here." She let out. And of course, they couldn't say "no" to her, and simply the guard nodded her head. The wolves too stopped right next to the door, giving them some space to walk.

However, the guard quickly pulled out a large key, opening up the door and the silence in the entire hall was very loud here, but as the door opened, it created a different sort of noise. This was even more so scary this place had turned in to.

However, quickly Evi walked adan so Robert already standing. Seemed like he was in anticipation of his mate, and the visit. But he was very much alerted about the queen as well. She quickly walked in, only to see Genie and Robert hugging each other, and Evi couldn't help but smile at the beauty of this scene.

"I am okay." Robert said, backing away from Genie and glancing at the Queen, bowing to her.

"I am very glad to see you my Queen, although, I am not sure if you should have come here." He let out, and Evi nodded.

"I am not sure either, but I personally wanted to see you, to see if you are doing okay." She said, speaking the truth.

"It's just a few more days here, I will be out in no time." He said, looking down at Genie.

Nori, on the other hand, she quickly walked up to her brother as well, giving him a tight hug. Evi knew that everyone missed Robert, it was very harsh to see him this way too.

"I am still not sure if the king will be happy.." Robert let out.

"We have all established that, but also have my reasons to be here.." She said, confessing. And this confused Rober.

"I hope you don't think you are the reason for me to stay here." He let out, and she looked away from him.

"I am a small part of it.." Evi spoke.

"Not at all. You saved my life and you have to under stand that this could have ended very differently for him." He said, and this was the same thing she heard from Genie too. Evi couldn't help but nod her head, agreeing.

"But I know that you can understand why I did what I did." He let out. How ever the smile on Evi's face suddenly faded. Knowing she had not done anything a mate should have done. Nothing about her and Barka's relationship was the same as a mate should have. "But I really hope things did not fade away with you both. I saw Barka was a little angry with you, when he took you into the castle." Robert said, reminding her of that day and it hurt so bad to go back there.

"Are you hurt?" She asked him, trying to divert to conversation to something else. Nori and Genie could very well see that.

"No, of course not." He let out, but this time it was Evi who couldn't make eyes contact with him.

"I am truly sorry.." Evi said actually, meaning it and couldn't help but think this was also her fault as well.

"Please stop saying that, no one could have predicted it and not even the king, and as far as I have understood, he is not upset with me either." He said confusing her. And Robert has a smile on his face.

"He came to see you?" She asked, and he nodded his head.

"Yes, I was little shocked myself, but he did and The King was here to ask me if I was doing okay, being a little lineant with my punishment. But the punishment has to happen." Robert let out, striking her in the most terrifying way possible with all of this information that was being given to her.

However right there and then there was a big situation that happened outside of the cell, bit enough as it was gaining everyone's attention and even the queen as well. All of them turned around, watching as the female guard was making her way into the room and she was a little taken a back, more like afraid of some thing.

Evi then put 2 and 2 together, and immediately, understood and knew that her sweet little king was here to escort her out of this grand, and dreadful place.

"My Queen................"

"I know, I know." Evi said, and all that even before the women could open her mouth and express her horror. Quickly then she turned towards Robert, who was a little scared for Evi, and not himself.

"May be you should go now, my queen." He said, and she couldn't help but agree more. However she looked at her best friend.

"I want to stay here a little longer. I will meet you later.... if I can meet you later." Genie said a little afraid, actually shaking with fear at the thought of the King. Everyone there werer going through that emotion, and even Nori, who was the man's best friend. Although, accept for the queen. She had lived with him, she slept in the same room with him and so she was a little uneasy there, but not afraid towards Barka and his anger. Evi was actually waiting to see what more could he have to say to her. He does already yell at her on a regular basis already. She then very quickly got out of the cell, as Nori was walking right next her.

"This is not going to end well for you Evi, I told you we shouldn't come here.." Nori said, putting on a frown on Evi's face, as she was walking out fo there confused as ever.

"You said nothing like that me." Evi let out, startling Nori.

"Did I not?" She asked a little confused as they were walking down the stairs and Nori once again glance at her new best friend, taken a back by her peaceful face. She looked calm as ever.

"How are you so okay with this?" She asked, wanting answers and Evi simply shrugged at her.

"I don't know, seems like I know him already. Although, it's scares me yes, but I feel like every thing will be okay. In 2 hours or so, he will go back to normal self, and back to same old Barka.." Evi let out, said smiling there brightly, how ever, Nori was not in that space with her.

How ever, the guards, on the other hand, they were taken a back here and it was very nice from them to see her, their queen who was getting so relaxed around them, even calling the king by his name. They did not find it offensive, but rather very beautiful. How ever, they all were still afraid for her and the power that she consumed. With a no time, all of them were down to the ground, as the gates were opening up for all of them. While Evi was standing in front of the guards, and the large wolves in front of her, protecting her. But as the gates opened, there they saw their kings standing in all of his presence, and holding a very upset, very angry stare on his face. Barka was turning red or maroon, if he could get any more red, then he already was. The wolves and everyone bowed down to him.

"Everyone leave us alone. I will take the queen to the castle myself." He said, and right then Evis eyes went wide open. Although, nobody wasted a second and were all following that order. But the way he put those words together surprised Evi. She was a little taken a back, not wanting anyone to leave her anymore. In a snap of a finger, she had changed her mind already.

How ever, Evi was standing right there, watching as everyone were leaving her there all alone. She was not surprised that he was using his Alpha power on everyone, but now frightened of him.

Evi then started to make her way out, as he walked right next to her. Both of them very quiet and they were making their way back through every comfortable road and uncomfortable situation. It was pretty silent over there, because nobody said a word to each other. And right then Evi got her a little confused. She gave him a side eyes, try to figure him out, but he in his all angry state was continuing to walk, taking her of guard.

"Will you say something?" She asked,

"Will you ever listen?" He asked, his voice coming off thick.

"What, I never listen to you?" She asked startled,

"No, you have never listened to me, not before and not now as well." He let out, frustrated now.

"But you never said anything about not coming here." She said, pointing at the towers.

"And so that does not count," She defended herself and he was losing it.

"Why did you come here Evelet?"

"Because I wanted to," She said, folding her hand in front of her chest.

"Why didn't you tell me then?"

"Because you would have said no....." he said almost immediately and quickly looked at his mate. His heart thumping so fast, so fast that he thought it was going to just burst its way out of his chest, and fall down on to the ground. But at this moment, it was the queen who was a little mad at him.

Evi stopped on her track, watching him in her angry state, as Barka continued to walk ahead. But she kept her eyes on him, staring at him. It took a while, but Barka noticed how she wasn't walking with him, and so he turned around, looking right into her eyes. How ever, she felt a shiver run down her body, as it did so but she said nothing to him, she was just staring at the man, only gathering the courage.

"Evelet.."

"You have to understand, that I can't go on with my only life, just waiting for an answer from you. When I know the answer is always, "no". It is always going to be "no". She let out, and Barka was fuming now, staring at her and listening well as well.

"If only once to listen to him Barka, and hear me out, as to what I want to do. Maybe I will have the courage to come up to you and ask you. We are not trapped here, btu you first already built that foundation were I know you are of no help." She explained, hooping he could understand her now, atleast.

"How do you expect me to believe anything else, I didn't come here to get killed or murder someone Barka, I came here to meet a man who is mate of my friend." She let out,

"You could have met him when he was back in the castle." He said, and she was trying not to get mad at him.

"I feel guilty for what happened Barka, something I don't think you have ever felt before." Evi said, as he stood there for a second, staring at her eyes. Immediately he started to walk closer to her. Barka was actually upset at what she said, never once taking his eyes off of her.

"You don't think I feel anything?" He asked.

"I think you feel guilty that you have a mate, that you have to do so many things for her all the time. And other than that, there is not one part of you that feels sadness or guilty, or even pain barka. Nothing about you is human, not even with me." She said, and the man now boiling up inside of himself.

"I understand being Alpha can be very tough, but every time I do something you just roast on the inside. And now you are staring at him like I burnt this place down. I know you have never had some one else to take care of, someone so close, some one who had to be with all the time. But when will you understand that you have a mate. There is no going back from here?." She said, and quickly Barka looked away from her, pulling his glanced away, to calm himself down.

"We have to talk to each other. Because every time I do something, you come here screaming at me. And this can not go on forever Barka. How long will we keep on doing this?" Evi finally asked, and said to him. And this was when he was losing his mind.

"You are in a prison cell that was supposed to be hit Evelet, and just because you give an order, Misi put the spell down, the spell was put so that you would not come here." He let out, his voice getting louder now.

"This is my kingdom too Barka...."

"But that is my ORDER........" He said, screaming on her face, making her step back and she was clearly taken a back. Especially by his words.

"I left something very important to come here, just so I could stop you. But you have already done whatever you wanted to. Anyone in there could have hurt you..... And you still do not understand that." He spoke up, and Evi looked down at her hands, not being able to face him because every time he open his mouth he would say something so mean to her, that it would just break her heart. But Evi refused to cry in front of him, she had already done that before and regretted it. Never the less, suddenly she couldn't help but laugh at the situation. Not because it was funny, because she was so done now.

'Why even come all this way here then. Why not do your job. If that is such a problem to you Barka." She whispered, as the man back away, but staring at her.

"You have given me such a big Army to be around me all the time, since what happened with Robert. Also then, why did you think that you should have run away from your important meeting, to be here with your mate?. When you know, I am safe and then complain about it." Evi said, and Barka glanced back at her.

"You know what is better? you should just put her in a cage and just let her be there. That will be much better for you, don't you think?. It will be such uninconvenience for you to come all the way here. to see your mate who is never really in trouble, but you make a big exaggeration." She said, screaming at him this time and actually upset.

"I have no idea what you keep having against me, if you have a problem with me don't come near me then. Isn't that simple enough for you?" Evi said, and Barka was not having it.

"You are a Queen here........." He said, and now she was pissed at him.

"I know......... I am not deaf or BLIND......." She said screaming louder than ever.

"Stop screaming, " He let out, gritting his teeth.

"I will not stop screaming. How much ever I want I will. What are you trying to prove? that you don't want me. I don't want you back......" She scream at him, slowly backing away from him and she said what she said.

For the first time, saying something she did not mean to say, but it came out so loud and for the first time it seemed to have effect Barka as well... He stood there, staring at her and taken a back by her words.He had nothing to say for the first time.

"You act as if I am such a problem to you, and I never create problems for you. Why was it necessary for you to say that?. Like you dropped very important things to come here, then you shouldn't have come. What is the worst thing that could happen to me, nothing." She let out, there was a part of her that couldn't stop talking over this, her anger had reached a different scope and Evi had no idea where any of this anger came from. She was perfectly calm just a few minutes ago, but his words had affected her so much so that it all seemed so different.

Quickly she walked out of there, walking right past the King and leaving the king there shocked.

However, she continued to make her way out of there, not wanting to take his help to get back to the castle. She already knew the way to go. But not wanting to see him entirely.

But suddenly, she heard foot steps behind her. And Evi rolled her eyes.

"I don't want to talk to you right now." She said, but no voice came from behind her. How ever, the noise of his foot steps definitely did.

Immediately without any warning or so, Barka wrapped her by her arms, pulling her back. It all happened so fast, she did not see it coming. Quickly, slammed her body to the tree and a bit too harsh on the tree right next to her. Completely struck by his behaviour.

"You seem to forget who you are talking to." Barka said, losing it on her.

"And I feel the same way about you." She said, looking through his eyes that were turning black and his anger had reached a different scope as well, not surprising her in any way.

"You have to understand that I am your mate too. You have a problem with me speaking in a certain way, you do that same, and I will have the same effect." She let out, and immediately he shut his eyes tight, trying to take in a deep breath and trying to control whatever was going in his mind. But she was making it harder then ever.

Evi immediately pushed his hands away from her arms, staring at him confused by his behaviour.

"What is wrong with you? I don't know what anger you have over me, that it only comes out on me. I cannot be a yes Alpha, kind of a person. I am your Queen, not someone who serves under you.." She said, and wanted for him to say something.

"What is it with you Barka?"....

"BECAUSE I CAN'T THINK STRAIGHT AROUND YOU....." He screams his lungs out, this time his wolf coming out of him. His wolf being protective, but at the same time the human was being suffocated. The combination that no one should see.

"What did I even do?" Evi whispered, scared of him. Because of you, because of your existence Evelet, I can't do my work right. I have a kingdom to take care of, people to take care of, but with you around I cannot. I was supposed to go see Anya today, but because of you, I am here and I wouldn't be able to meet her, not until tomorrow." Barka said, and she gulped, her heart beating faster, and the pain was increasing for her. She wanted to go numb.

"My mind keeps fogging around because I am too busy thinking about you. My kingdom is going to its own dilemma, because I keep thinking about you." He said, moving closer, staring deeper into her eyes, as she backed away, fearing him for once.

"Because I know that there will be at time, that you will intentionally put yourself in danger, just to test my patience. I know that there will be a time, where you will think about everyone else and not you, put yourself through death, again." He let out, holding her in a tight grip, and his nails digging in to her.

"Barka........"

"Our life here was simple, going according to the life built. When you were not here, when I could think straight and think right, as off now everything is a big mess and you keep roaming around the Kingdom like there is threat involving around you....." He said, and every word coming out of his mouth was like a venom to her. Every word was going into her skin, her mind, her flesh, her blood, everywhere. It was painful as it was, and she knew he was not lying to her. Evi just for the first time had nothing back to say to him, it was that painful.

"You are the queen here, you have to be protected and there are people relying on you. And you have no responsibility in your bound. This is why I did not want a mate, I did not want to take care of a child, and here I have a child. I have you to look after every second, because You cannot behave like a Queen, and take care of yourself." He said, speaking for all he had, he was not holding back. Breaking everything that one steady inside of her. She wanted to be as brave as possible. She did not want tears to come out, but it was her wolf that could not hold it anymore. It was not insulting, she has seen insult before, but this was a deep, dark verse that were trapped inside of him for so long and now that he had courage and anger to bring it out. It was a different thing for him, and her.
