Chapter 26

3762 Words
A large white gown, being dragged along. With some beautiful white petals, as she was at a very slow pace, walking down. The queen kept her eyes right ahead to the large staircase that she had to walk on. And the sense of anxiety was pouring through her, but right as she saw Barka there, standing right there Evi felt a bit better with herself. Barka was facing the people on the other side, and he was standing there with a minister and Misi. Standing right next to each other. Slowly Evi made her way up the stairs, taking a few steps and the entire time her heart was feeling as if it was going to burst out of her chest. And just fall on to the ground and that would be it for Evelet. But that was not the case as she was trying her best to take in a deep breath and let it out, feeling herself live a little. Slowly standing up and walking there, she finally reached the end of the stairs, watching as the two crowns were placed there and one of them was waiting for her. However, she looked ahead and right ahead she saw there were her people staring at her, waiting for the crown to land on her head. Evi did not know what it was, but there was a sense of panic in her body. So much so that it was making her shiver to her bones and something wasn't right. She could feel it. Right then Evi looked at Barka, he looked like himself, but a little dead on the inside. Just like he had when she had met him before,, very less human he looks and a lot more like an animal. However, at this moment her body was telling her to leave, and she knew something was wrong. "Let's go back Barka, something is wrong here." She said, hoping that he would listen to her this time. But he started to shake his head and this disappointed her. "You are the queen, wear your crown." He said to her, not listening to Evi. At this moment she knew he was not himself as well. She backed away from him a little bit. It was not him that looked out of place to her, but something about everything around her did. She did not know what exactly was raising to thoughts, she could not even condemn it. However, the sky above her started to go black. It all happened all of a sudden. There was no indication of it for a very long time, but here it was. Evi immediately grabbed on to the kings hand, stopping him from proceeding. "Barka, please let's go back. Enough." She said, and that was when she noticed something from the corner of her eyes. Slowly she glanced away as a very heavy and cold breeze started to make its way towards her. Pushing her hair behind her shoulder as she plays her hand on her chest and stomach. "Huuuhhhh.." Gasping at the sight in front of her. All of her people were dropping to the ground as they were bleeding from their mouths, stomachs and from everywhere. It was a sight that she had never seen before but here she was, watching as every member of a Kingdom was dropping to the ground and falling, dying in front of her. It was the most heart breaking movement, and Evelet was just standing there. She turned to Barka, only to see he was looking deep into her soul. She understood there was something wrong with him, and placed her hands on his shoulders, even though he was awake she was trying to wake him up. "Barka, listen to me." She said, feeling tears come down her eyes, at everything she was seeing around her. Evi was panicking and she was scared, but right at that moment something very disturbing happened. There was blood coming from Barka's chest. His entire shirt turning red from a dot and growing into this big mess. "Barka.." She immediately gasped in fear of him, in fear of losing him. Backing away but not wanting to let him go. She saw him starting to fall, but quickly she grabbed him. "Noo, please no...." She muttered, grabbing the large man that he was and Evi couldn't hold on to him for so long. And she even felt on the ground with him on her. "Ahhhhh, Barka........." She muttered, sitting down as his head was resting on her shoulder, he was die right in front of her eyes. But she could do nothing. "No..........." She whispered, looking down at him, patting his face and wanting him to come back to life, be alive for once. But he wouldn't move a muscle. Quickly she turned around for help from Misi, but only to see she was on the ground as well. Her eyes were wide open and yet blood pouring out from her stomach. Evi had no idea what was going on as she looked everywhere for help only to see bodies all around there. And there was nothing and no one left for her. She was in tears, and her heart was breaking as Evi was feeling sick to her stomach. But more than ever, she felt alone there. Barka please," She said to him, calling for him and looking down, trying to bring him back to her. She felt so alone with him gone. Suddenly, then in that silence she heard a sound of foot steps coming from behind her. She was too afraid to turn around, because all this time everyone there were dead, but who ever was left alive, that person made her not want to turn. She was afraid of that presence. A very cold wind landed on her skin and there came a hand, a cold and icy hand, holding her and trapping her there. "Huuhhhh.." Immediately she let out a small gasp of horror, as the ice cold fingers touching her skin. Slowly she turned around ,even though she was afraid to her core, Evi did it never the less and immediately looked up as she saw a man standing behind her. And a very large man, large enough just as much as Barka, tall. And then she saw he was the same man she had seen before. Grey eyes that were staring down at her. "This is your future..." He spoke to her, and for the first time she ever heard his voice. Not understanding who he was or how she could even have such clear details of him and his voice. But one thing was very clear, Evi understood now that she was dreaming, none of this was real. Immediately she shut her eyes, begging herself to wake up. "Wake up, and wake up Evi." She said and immediately opened her eyes and there she only saw darkness. her body sitting up straight as she was literally shivering and sweating. Her hand on her chest, Evelet was shaking in fear as to what she had just seen. Quickly she turns to her right to see her best friend who was still sleeping there. She did not move, sleeping with her mouth slightly open. Evi placed her hand on her mouth, so that her heavy breathing wouldn't wake Genie up. Although, all her screaming and moving so quickly did not wake her up, yet she was just taking precautions. Never the less, Evi was very happy that she had her best friend here, as Genie had decided to sleep in her room with her and not in the room that was given to her. Now that Evi was not alone, something inside of her just felt much more alive or she would have honestly fainted there. If she was alone, afraid of what she saw. Evi then went back, looking around through the balcony to see it wasn't raining tonight. That could mean that she could go outside and get some fresh air. "Yes, a walk will help.." She let out, and immediately pushed her covers away, getting down from her bed and to the cold floor. Very slowly then she put on her slippers and she walked up to her chair that had her large coat. Quickly she grabbed the coat, putting it on herself and walked towards the door. Slowly grabbing on to the handle, she pulled it back. Hoping her best friend wouldn't wake up. Evi then slowly turned around, glancing as there was a loud c***k in the door. "CCCCCCRRRRRRR..." She immediately stopped right there and then, because right at that moment Genie moved a little, turning the other way and pulling the covers over her face. Making some small noises. Evi then let out a large huff. Happy the Genie was sleeping and immediately Evi walked out of her room, closing the door slowly behind her and making her way through the dark corridor. Her eyes though, they went towards Barka's door, which was right opposite to her room and unfortunately, it was closed. And that could only mean he was asleep. However, after seeing that dream, she actually wished to go see him. See if he was honestly asleep or not. How ever, that seemed like a great idea right now and her heart was thumping so fast in anticipation. She actually had a fear of his well-being. However, quickly something happened and she stopped right there and then. A frown growing on her face. "What the f*** are you doing?. Let him sleep and stop worrying so much. He forced you to come here." She said to herself, folding her arms around her chest and reminding herself of who he was. He could take care of himself. Quickly then, she made her way down the stairs. How ever, one last time looking at the closed doors. It wasn't so dark as she walked down, but it was most definitely empty here. She could still hear a few guards were patrolling around here and there, but mostly it was very quiet. Immediately she made her way to the back garden, where she could sit and look at some water. Evi wanted this and so she walked out, only to see a presence sitting on one of the benches. It was her mother and she knew it. Her back was facing Evi.. How ever River quickly turned around, and River was very shocked to see her daughter standing there and she sat up straight. "What are you doing here? you must be sleeping. It's a big day for you tomorrow, Evelet." She said, almost scolding her as Evi was not listening to her and she started to simply make her way towards her mother, needing her very badly, too badly at the moment. "Can I sit with you mom ?" She whispered very softly and something in her mother changed, even her expression, and so River quickly moved away, and without wasting a second there, Evi sat down with her mother holding her close and Evi wrapped her arms around her stomach. "Are you okay? What's wrong?" She asked and Evi shook her head. "Nothing..." She said, of course lying and quickly River slapped her on her arm. "Ahhh, mom. I am a Queen and you can do that to me." She said, actually hurt. "And you are my daughter first, Queen or no Queen, I will do this if you lie to me." She let out, the only one who actually had the right to say this to Evi. "Are you happy here?" River asked, but she honestly had no idea what to say. "You think everything will get better mom?" Evi asked her mother, hoping for an honest answer. However, River quickly wrapped her arms around her tightly, planting a small kiss on her forehead. Knowing her daughter needed her. "In time yes, for sometime you might cry, not being able to handle new things. You might get angry and you might even go into slit depression. You might get upset thinking you are not strong enough, making yourself look weak and saying how everyone else is doing better than you. But those moments will help you get better. It is not forever Evi. You would not want to stay in that position forever as well yourself, so you will do better. You will start to learn and to stop crying and do something about it. Eventually you will understand and then people will look at you and say "she did it." "I have never seen anyone as strong as her" "she was born for this title." Her mother said to her, and Evi slowly she nodded her head, listening, understanding. And was that enough? "Do you feel much better?" River asked Evi, and she nodded her head. "I can't stay here forever. You know that I might not be able to talk to you all the time as well . But you can always ask yourself some questions as well. You are strong enough to answer them. Just look in the mirror and talk to yourself." She said, and once again her mother slapped her. This time on her cheek. Aooooow mom, that actually hurt." She said, moving away but mother as River pulled her back, holding her daughter steady. "I promise you, everything is going to be okay. I promise you things always change." She said and Evelet actually believed her, knowing that was the truth and her mother would never lie to her. However, right that moment they both heard foot steps coming behind and that same memory struck Evi, as she quickly moved away from her mother and stared behind, pulling out Flower, as Flower was ready to come out and fight for her family. "What are you doing here?" A voice came an it was Barka. Immediately, her eyes went back to normal and she was so surprised to see him. Evelet was looking at him up and down. Mostly at his chest, because in her dream he was bleeding from there but now in reality there was nothing. "My lord, I just wanted to talk to my daughter." River said, smiling softly at him, and all the King could do was nod his head respectfully. Immediately, River then stood up and Evi looked up at her mother, frowning. "Are you going?" Evi asked, unhappy with this decision. "I really need to sleep my love, you go as well." She said, slowly bending down and planting a kiss on her forehead and walking away from there, leaving them both all alone. However Barka on the other hand, he kept his eyes on Evelet. Seeing how she was a little out of place. "Let me take you back to your room." He said and she thought about it for a while, seeing that was a bright idea. Evi did have to get up early in the morning and soon slowly got herself up, pulling her closer to her chest as Evi looked at him. Only to see that he was in his casual dress, something she had never seen him before. Extremely tight this was, showing off his extremely masculine body. Evi was trying not to react and stare, but her eyes were just automatically going there. "Flower stop making me stare at him." She said. "I can't help myself b***h, I am looking at my mate and that is not my problem and stop over exaggerating. You are not innocent here, you want to watch too." Flower said, exposing her and making her even more angry. As she walked up, closer to him. "Did you have a bad dream?" Barka asked her, looking down at her and through the dim light of the surroundings, the King could see her large eyes wide open. "Don't lie to me, did you have a bad dream?" He asked and slowly she nodded her head, not saying a word about it and that made him think that maybe she was scared to talk about it. Barka, he thought over this for a second, while his eyes glanced up at the sky. And without any warning or so, Barka grabbed her hand, surprising her and dragged her into the house, immediately, closing the back doors behind her. Right then there was a bright lighting that came around this part of the castle, forcing her to look around the place, confused.. And following it came thunder. "Close your ears." He said, letting her go, and very randomly walking with her. Although, Evi didn't say anything but placed her hand on her ears and there it came, the biggest thunder of all times, shaking the walls. "Oh my god." She said, as everything started to crackle and Evi stopped on her track, just hearing that massive noise that came out of nowhere. "What the hell was that?" She asked him, seeing how none of that affected thee King. "This part of the castle is mostly empty, so the noise gets very loud here." Barka let out, making his way towards apart that she had never been to. Never the less, she followed him. "Where are we going?" Evi asked . Although, Barka didn't say anything but walked into a room, and when she got inside, there Evi saw a very massive kitchen and there was no one in there. Barka was now making his way towards the glass, getting some warm water for her. "Do you always have bad dreams?" He asked her and his rough night voice came out different and difficult for her to grasp on to. Although, to that question she started to shake her head. "Then why now?" He asked her again. Evi though, she shook her head again and sat down on one of the high chairs. Barka then quickly came up close to her, giving her the glass of water and she took the glass. But his eyes went to her hands that were still shaking. He saw that clearly as she took the glass of water and was gulping it down. "Did you see that man again?" He asked and that question came out of no where. Quickly she looked up at him, staring at him and that was enough of an answer for Barka. She was afraid, and he did not want to cause her more of that. However, the man quickly turned around, walking towards the fridge while there were multiple things running in his mind, but as of now he pulled out a large piece of cake that was still left out. Barka had made sure of that. However, Evi saw that and some how she immediately calmed down. Some how he knew this would work out. "This is going to be a little cold, so................." "It's okay, I like it cold." She said, staring at the cake and surprising him yet again. Almost as if everything about her was just strange and yet the King nodded his head. Never the less, trying not to judge her and cut a small piece while she was watching him do that. "A little bit more." She whispered, as he stared at her though the dim room. "Please......" She said to him, biting her lips softly and looking at the cake. How ever, he noticed how she was biting her lips and something about it just made him feel strange in his stomach. Quickly, the man looked away from her, cutting a larger piece for her and once done, plating it. Barka then pushed it forward. "I don't think it's a good idea to eat sugar before sleeping, but you should eat something that you like. It will help you fall asleep and after what happened today I think you are a bit shaken up." He said to her, as Evi was glad that he was there and alive as well. She was then taking large bites out of it, staring up at him. "Who said this to you?" She asked as the kings sat down right opposite to her. "My grandmother, she tells me a few things as well." He said to her, saying the same thing she had said before. Never the less, a smile came on to her face, something that never happened as she was just enjoying her food. "You know, I feel like you put on a show all the time." Evi said, eating with her mouthful as he sat there, his hand resting on his forehead. "What do you mean?" He asked her, his rough voice yet again coming through. And right then she put the spoon down, looking at him and swallowing her cake. "You say you don't care about me, you are extremely mean to me sometimes and you get very angry on things that you shouldn't be getting angry at........." She went on and on and Barka shut his eyes for a second and reopened them. "Where are you going with this?" He asked, interrupting her, stopping her. "Oh yeah.." She said, nodding her head, telling him to wait. "All I am saying is, when ever I have always needed rest, help. It looked like I might need you. Somehow you are nice enough to help me, like you don't have to be here to give me cake but you are giving me cake. I have never seen or heard a King do things like this." She said, going back to eating. "What did you think Kings did?" He asked her and she shrugged. "I don't know. I have seen many things in my life, but you are the first King for me." She said keeping her entire concentration there. How ever, what she said got him thinking, going back to his thoughts that always hurt him. "My father, he was very nice." Barka whispered, making her look up at him. "Really?" She asked as their eyes met. "He was a very kind man, brutal when it was time but very caring. He did things that were not expected of him and he did it with his heart." Barka let out, giving her something about his past and life, something he didn't even know he was doing. "So you are saying that, there is a small part of him inside of you, his kindness." She said joking about it, but he only glared at her. "Eat up. You have to go sleep." He said, and that made her chuckle. "I guess not." She whispered, completely eating it up, entirely. Honestly enjoying this time with him.
