CHAPTER FIVE “Perfect,” Mia said aloud, swerving around a car and into the fast lane. Sirens blaring, the police car behind her was slowly closing the gap between them. Luckily, though, some obstinate drivers in the fast lane were not moving over to let the cops pass. She’d never been so glad to see i***t drivers on the road. She watched as the cop car moved into the other lane, to pass on the right. It was still several car lengths away. Up ahead, a light turned amber. She pressed on the gas and surged forward, sailing through the second it turned red. The other cars were sandwiching the cop car in.
