Gianni's POV
I waited patiently for hours for Damian's personal assistant to show up at the dress shop, I didn't know her by face or anything, I was tired of waiting so I brought out my phone and dialed Damian's number.
"Damian speaking, please who is on the line?" Damian's voice asked from the other side of the phone.
"It's Gianni," I replied.
"Who is that? How can I help you?" Damian asked I rolled my eyes, what does he mean he doesn't know his wife's name?
I wasn't willing to introduce myself to him, if he doesn't know my name so be it, "I'm at the dress shop and your personal assistant isn't here yet."
''Oh your name is Gianni, okay, she will be there soon," Damian said, "Give her the next twenty minutes, she is on an errand right now."
Before I could answer, Damian ended the call in my ear. I sat down back on the chair waiting for Damian's personal assistant.
"Gianni," I turned when I heard Landon's voice call my name, "what are you doing here?"
"I came shopping," I smiled at him, he seemed confused.
"Shopping? Here," Landon raised his eyebrows, "I don't mean to be rude or anything but does your salary carry such a designer's brand?"
"I'm sorry but I'm lost," I was confused, I didn't understand what he was saying.
"I mean since you are a nanny, you must work multiple jobs and if you work like that, how do you afford these things," Landon explained, a smile braced my face and I nodded my head.
Landon didn't know I was married to his boss and he was worried about my spending habits, at least he would treat me right and not as his boss' wife.
"Oh, I was given some money by my boss to get ready for his wife's dinner ceremony," the smile still plastered on my face.
"Oh I see, you know what, how about you keep the money boss offered while you pay with my card," Landon brought out his card and handed it to me.
I was surprised by Landon's gesture, "No, it's okay," I tried to decline Landon's card.
"The boss gave me his card," I showed him Damian's black card.
"Damian gave you his card?" Landon asked suspiciously.
"Not for me but for his kids," I said the first lie that came through my mouth.
"Is Damian's wife really that useless," Landon muttered under his breath but I heard him.
Why would he think that of someone he doesn't know, "Why would you say that?" I frowned at his words.
"Yesterday, she went to see another man and today she isn't even shopping for her kids," Landon answered, how did he know all this?"
"Anyway I can't tell," I changed the topic, "I think I should go look for something to get," I smiled politely.
Landon held my wrist and forced the card Inside my hands, "Don't forget the card and I was wondering if you could be my date to the wedding dinner," Landon said, catching off guard.
"Huh?" I quickly came up with an excuse, "I don't think that will be possible, I will be taking care of the boss' children so I won't have the time to do anything," I lowered my gaze.
"Sure, I will see you around then," Landon tapped my shoulder, he went to the counter, carried what he had brought, and left the mall.
Thank Goodness Landon bought it, if I wanted him to treat me like a friend for a very long time and not his boss' wife then I would have to make sure he doesn't see me with Damian at the wedding dinner.
Damian's personal assistant came, she helped me with shopping for myself, and the kids and I also got nice things for Luna and Arabella. I didn't use Landon's card but Damian's card.
"Take it to this address," I said to the driver after he parked the car, I handed the driver the things I had brought for both Luna and Arabella to be taken to them, "And make sure to bring them to the event on time. "
The housekeeper carried the remaining things and walked into the house behind me. When I arrived home Francis ran to hug me while Selena sat on the couch focused on her cartoon.
"How are you," I picked him up into my arms, "I got you something," I took his gift bag from the housekeeper and showed it to him.
Francis jumped out of my hand and took the gift bag, "Thank you, can't wait to show grandma," he said as he ran upstairs to his grandma with the bag in his hands.
I sat beside Selena on the couch, "I got you something," I handed the gift bag to her.
Selena looked at it like it was trash, she opened the bag to see a pink dress and her face turned to disgust, "Pink? I don't wear pink, you don't even know that you didn't ask before you went shopping."
"I'm sorry, I didn't know, next time I promise I will get something else, what are your favorite colors?" I tried to bring a smile to my face, I was embarrassed that a child would talk to me like that.
"Ask Grandma she knows that," Selena got up from the chair, she opened my bag to see what I had gotten for myself, "Blue? You got my mom's favorite color for yourself."
"No, I didn't know it was your mom's favorite color else I wouldn't have gotten it," Selena is a child so I guess she was hurt that was the only reason I was reacting else I would have taught her a lesson.
Tears welled up in Selena's eyes as her lips quivered, "As if," she threw my dress on the floor and ran upstairs.
I let out a deep breath and sank into the chair, my eyes staring at the ceiling, "She is just a child hurting," I said to myself.
"Hurting about what?" Professor Lisa sat by my side.
I sat straight on the chair, "She is a child, she lost her mother, and someone coming in to take her mother's place, she must be lost and confused."
"Is that what you think? Selena is just being mean and jealous just like her mom, she lost her mom five years ago, Selena has always loved you, she is scared you will take all her father's love away," Professor Lisa explained, "She is a child, she is your child, when the need to discipline her comes, do it."
I was worried about what Damian would do when he found out I raised my voice at his child, "But."
"No but," Lisa got up from the chair, picked up my dress, and gave it to me, "Get ready, the professional makeup artist and hairstylist will be here any moment and I will have the Housekeeper take care of the kids," I smiled and hugged Lisa.
I took my things upstairs, had my bath and went to the dressing room where the hairstylist styled my hair into a high ponytail with curls and the make-up artist did a nude make up to go with my dinner dress.
I smiled looking at myself in the mirror feeling satisfied with what I was saying, they sure know how to do their job.
When I finished, I went to my room to get ready when I noticed my room was disarranged, this wasn't the way I left it, I was sure about that. I brushed it off because there was nothing I could do.
I picked up my dress from the gift bag, my eyes widened in horror when I saw my dress had been damaged beyond repair, I yelled at the top of my lungs.
