Gianni's POV
I sent Arabella to call Louis the moment his car parked in the compound while I continued applying pressure on this man's wound with the help of Luna.
"What is taking them long?" I complained to Luna who was cleaning the stranger's blood.
"Gianni," Louis opened the door looking disoriented, the moment he saw me, relief washed over his face.
"Thank goodness you are alright, I was scared as f**k when Arabella came downstairs," Louis put his hands on his chest before his eyes went to the motionless man on the couch, "Who is he? Did Luna do this?"
Louis has always suspected that Luna has it in her to kill someone and I don't know why that was the first thing that came to his mind.
"Really?" Luna rolled her eyes, her reaction showed she wanted to hit him but couldn't.
"Gianni, who is he and what happened? How did he even get here in the first place?" A concerned Louis asked as he checked if the man was still breathing.
"He is one of the godfathers I served the day I lost my job, he was shot today in front of me and I brought him here," both Luna and Arabella stared at me with wide eyes because of the fact I hadn't told anyone about the job I lost while Louis listened carefully.
"You brought him here!" Louis yelled in a whisper before he finally came down, "Then why did you bring him here? It could be dangerous," Louis was about to remove the cap covering the stranger's face but I stopped him.
"Help him," I pleaded, vulnerability in my voice.
Louis brought out his phone to call an ambulance but I quickly grabbed it from him and ended the call.
"Not an ambulance, the police will get involved and we will all be questioned, please, and worse things could happen since I found him," I returned his phone to him.
"So should we leave him to die here?" Luna began to panic.
"No…no… Louis please help me," I took Louis' hands in mine which were covered in blood.
"What type of help?" Louis asked me suspiciously.
"Louis, you are from a family of doctors, you have been in more OR than I have, you have watched more live surgeries than I ever have, I have never removed a bullet, so please," I went on my knees as tears rolled down my eyes.
I was scared of this stranger dying in my house and I wanted to save him for his family, Louis hesitated as he bit his lips.
Louis let out a deep breath, "Okay but the surgery will be done in my apartment," I jumped and hugged Louis without realizing it.
We moved him to Louis' apartment ready for the surgery. I didn't know Louis had the entire hospital equipment in one of his rooms. I watched as Louis sterilized his equipment and when he removed the stranger cap before the surgery, Louis' eyes widened in shock.
"Do you know him?" Arabella asked, bringing our attention to Louis.
"This is Damian, I don't really know him but I have seen him with my mother a lot of times since I was a child, and my father doesn't like him or want me to associate with him," Louis explained, "How did he end up in this situation?"
Louis began the surgery and it was difficult, the bullet was very close to his heart but he managed to remove it, and the stranger had lost a lot of blood.
"Cardiac arrest," Louis screamed as he jumped on the stranger performing CPR.
"Definitely not a good thing," Luna burst into tears as her hands began to tremble, she sat on the floor resting her back on the wall.
We all began to panic, "Gianni, Luna, Arabella pull yourself together," Louis shouted, "the CPR isn't working."
"Gianni, Prepare the defibrillator!" Louis commanded, at that moment I had forgotten what he was talking about.
I arranged it for Louis, "Clear!" Louis declared.
When Louis saw he wasn't responding to it he yelled, "Raise it to 300 joules."
We are just students, wasn't it dangerous, "But," I had finished my words.
"No, but, now," he ordered, I had no other choice than to follow because he was a bit more experienced than I was.
Louis quickly checked his pulse and observed that there were still no signs of a restored heartbeat so he injected him.
After administering the medication, we watched intently for any signs of improvement. The room remained filled with tension and hope.
"Does this mean he is dead?" Luna asked curiously.
"I have injected him with epinephrine, so let's wait," Louis said, giving us hope.
Shortly, the beep of the heart monitor went on again indicating he was safe, and we all breathed a sigh of relief. Louis hastening checked his vital signs.
"Thanks, I owe you one," I gave Louis a warm smile.
"He needs blood, I will go to the blood bank and see what I can do in the meantime check his vitals," Louis removed his gloves.
"I guess I should clean any sign of blood before only God knows what will happen next," Luna chuckled nervously, I could see the fear and relief in her eyes.
We could hear sirens from a distance but they kept getting nearer and nearer. We all felt they were on patrol when Arabella suddenly ran to us.
"The authorities are in our compound," Arabella whispered, her eyes widening with fear, our hearts racing as we exchanged uneasy glances.
Police, why are they in our compound?
Police, what do they want?
Do they know he is here?
What do I do now?
