"Elana Carson, do you take Daniel Turner to be your lawfully wedded husband, to love and to cherish him, in sickness and in health, till death do you part?"
Elana opened her eyes and looked around.
First, she saw the priest and then Daniel.
She was confused, Wasn’t she in that cold, dark prison? Dying just a few moments ago?
Then how was she suddenly in what looked like a wedding hall?
Donning a white wedding gown, with flowers in her hand, and standing at the altar with none other than Daniel.
Her husband,
The one who locked her up, surrounded by the people who betrayed her.
She looked around and saw faces she never thought she’d see again.
Her stepmom, her dad, Alexa and relatives.
The same people who watched her get kidn*pped at the engagement party and just looked the other way.
She gasped as reality dawned on her,
This was the day of her wedding two years ago,she had been reborn!!!
How? She thought things like this only happened in movies.
But it seemed fate had given her a second chance.
A chance for revenge,a chance
To make Daniel and everyone behind her death pay,a chance To avenge her mother.
And the most important of them all To find the truth about her mother’s death.
“Elana,” she heard Daniel call her name softly,
She looked at him and found him staring at her with those tender black eyes.
“The priest is waiting for you, Elana.”
She would have fallen for it before,
Of course why would she not? He spoke her name with so much love and admiration
But Elana knew better now,
She knew his true colors and what he was capable of doing
He didn’t love her one bit,He was the one who imprisoned her and left her to rot alone in the cold, dark prison.
No!Elana would not fall for it anymore.
With determination flashing in her eyes, she dropped the bouquet she was holding in her hand and crushed it under her heel.
_Crunch._
Gasps filled the hall and Whispers started immediately.
Even Daniel looked confused.
They all stared at her like she had lost her mind, like she was some kind of crazy b***h,Elana didn't mind their whispers as she didn't care what they thought of her anymore.
“Elana, what are you doing?” His voice was still soft tinged with a little bit of confusion.
Not even paying him any mind, Elana ripped the ring off her finger and threw it hard at his chest.
_Clink._
More gasps and More whispers.
She raised her wedding gown and walked down the altar, planning to leave this hall as fast as possible.
“Elana! Come back here! Where the f**k are you going?”
She heard Daniel’s voice behind her
this time...
his voice wasn’t soft instead It was laced with impatience and irritation.
Elana stopped and then slowly exhaled.
“Daniel,” she said, turning halfway, Her voice cracked a little.
“It seems I’ve had a change of heart. This wedding is cancelled. I no longer want to marry you.”
_Silence._
Dead silence,
Nobody said a word, as if they were waiting for her to laugh and say she was joking.
Eventually, it was her father, Raymond Carson, who broke the tense silence.
“What is the meaning of this!”
Elana didn’t answer, She just gripped the side of her dress tighter.
“Answer me, Elana!” he boomed.
She turned around fully to face him.
“Father, he’s a wicked man. And he’s cheating on me.”
She had no proof that Daniel was already cheating on her with alexa
But she was certain. She had always seen the side glances they gave each other when they thought she wasn’t looking.
Her past self was just too stupid and naive to be suspicious and call it out.
“And who is he cheating with?” Raymond replied calmly.
Elana lifted her chin.
“He’s cheating on me with none other than Alexa, My stepsister.”
The room became silent once again,
She scanned everyone’s faces.
No one looked surprised,
Some looked down in guilt, Some didn’t even care at all.
Her father, her stepmother, and Alexa didn’t even look guilty, Just stunned.
And Daniel… Daniel looked panicked.
She laughed bitterly,_So they all knew. But nobody told her._
Hell, why would they? Nobody here cared about her.
She wasn’t even surprised.
In her past life they had watched her get kidn*pped and said nothing.
Honestly, what did she expect?
“Elana, how did you find out?” Daniel asked, snapping her out of her thoughts.
“It doesn’t matter,” she snapped.
“What matters is that this wedding is cancelled. It’s not going to continue.”
She turned to leave again.
“Elana, don’t you dare leave this place!” Her father’s voice was sharp,
“Whether you like it or not, you are going to marry Daniel. Even if he’s cheating. Without him, you’re going to be nothing.”
Elana clenched her fists to stop herself from crying.
In her past life, ever since her mother died, her father had never treated her well.
He brought in another woman and a daughter, and gave them permission to treat her like a servant.
She never complained Because when she did, they treated her even worse and called her ungrateful.
But ever since she met Daniel, they had changed,
Especially her father. They treated her more nicely.
Elana knew It was fake. They just wanted to stay on Daniel’s good side so he’d keep giving them money.
But she had happily accepted their fake concern.
Because she yearned for familia love, the only love her family could give her
Hearing her father say those words to her now…
She was on the verge of tears.
_What kind of father treats their daughter this way?_
