The sad story of a teenagers world

"Nicole is turning 16 today her mother exclaims!" "happy birthday baby girl!" groaning and not very excited Nicole turns around and smiles "Thanks mom!" Ray my step dad comes up behind my mom and puts a hand around my shoulder and squeezes. "Well looks like you're still my little girl to me" he says. rolling my eyes dramatically "thanks dad" "gotta catch the bus I'll see y'all later" I say running out the door. I get to the end of my road and pop my head phones in and turn on my music player that dad got me for a early birthday present. My bus rolls up just as I get done picking my favorite artist and song. I climb the steps and get into my seat. relaxing finally I close my eyes for the ride to school. Bryant high school the school for Alabama kids. we moved to Alabama right after the attack on the twin towers in New York city. my mom met ray thru a patient of hers and they started dating and eventually he asked her to marry him. I wasn't to over joyed by the conjoing of families but her my mom deserved to be happy right. He was a great guy and even spoiled me some so no complaints. We pull up to the school and I grab my book bag and head down the aisle to get off the bus. I've been in this town and state since I was 10 so I know almost everyone from elementary and middle school. I hated this place! I was awkward and not very friendly. I have brown eyes and brown hair and I'm only 5' even so I'm short and I'm a thick girl which all the boys loved. I head to my homeroom class and find a seat I'm always the first one cause I'm actually a good student besides some minor attitude problems but hey I'm 16. Mrs sweets is my first class. oh what joy I have when I get to be in her class. she is a very fickle woman with a major attitude and she just rubs me the wrong way. we have never gotten along but today was my birthday so I'm not letting her get to me today! students start walking in one by one and I just sit there with my papers out and watch them. Scott a junior walks in. he has red hair with freckles and he is a bigger sized boy but he is so sweet to me and I have a crush on him. He takes the seat in the back beside me and has his ear buds in listening to music. My heart does a summer Sault and I'm happy he is beside me. we normally don't talk much cause Mrs sweets hates talking so we pass notes instead alot and talk that way. My friend Ashley walks in and sits on the other side of Scott and smiles and waves at me. Ashley is a gorgeous girl and a cheerleader for our football team the hurricanes. I never thought I would be friend's with a cheerleader but here I am Ashley whispers "happy birthday" to me and I say "thank you" In turn catches Scott's attention and he also tells me happy birthday. I tell him thank you while turning crimson red from embarrassment times goes in and we have a hour left of class and suddenly a note in thrown onto my desk. I look over and Scott is smiling at me telling me to open it. I smile back and open the note and it reads: Hey, so today is your birthday huh? How old are u? and what is your birthday wish?! I quickly scribble down my age and then stopped about my birthday wish and then I did something I never thought I would ever do. I wrote down that my birthday wish was to be his girlfriend! flushing red I hurried up and folded the paper back up and tossed it back to him tucking my head down scared of his response. I hear the paper opening and a small chuckle escapes his lips. Mrs sweets noticed and asks "Scott what is so funny?" he replies "this class is" and everyone in turn busts out laughing including me She doesn't think the joke is funny and smirks and then turns her attention back to reading out loud the story she was telling us. I turn my head and see Scott writing something down on the paper we was passing back and forth and he told it back up and looks at me and smiles. He hands me the note and winks at me. I smile back and of course flush red again I've never told a guy how I felt before because I was awkward and shy so this was new to me. I take the note and open it and much to my surprise he asks "why have u never said anything to me, I like you too and have always had a crush on u since we started this class together" Now I'm beaming from ear to ear and I quickly write him back that I am shy and I don't normally do this kind of thing. I also say "why haven't u ever told me u liked me?" handing him back the note my heart is pounding and my stomach is in knots but I'm doing cartwheels on the inside! My very first high school bf eeekkkk! He gets the note and opens it and grins and looks over at me and I'm looking back and then turns back to the note and writes something down which takes a minute. so I just sit patiently waiting. He finally finished and hands me the note back. I hurriedly open it with anticipation and I see the words "Well then will you be my gf and go out with me?" I'm in shock and my mouth falls open and I turn beat red again it takes me a minute to register what I am reading but then I hurried to reply and say "yes most definitely"
