Chapter 59: shopping

Back to Alexis’ POV:

Ugh. I’m so angry and annoyed. How can such a sweet guy turn into a huge man w***e in just a few months? And the fact that him looking at me with his lust filled eyes, actually got to me. It made me squirm but more than that, I felt a rush of heat in my core. I can’t let someone like him have ANY control over me!

“You need to calm down. Maybe you can do some yoga? And then maybe meet with friends at the mall? But you need to calm down. I can feel the anger boiling up inside of you.” Nala gently states.

I close my eyes, nod, and take a deep breath.

I threw on some clothes quickly. Just a simple green hoodie and black leggings. Caitlyn comes in just as I threw on my top. She runs up and hugs me.

“I’m so sorry. What an ass!!! What do you want to do?” She asks, angry and concerned.

“Can you get ahold of the girls? Maybe we can meet up with them at the mall in like an hour or two? I want to do some yoga to calm down. I think some girl time and shopping for a little would be nice. Maybe we can go eat after that? I just need to be alone for at least 30 minutes while I work on some of the calming exercises and yoga exercises that Crystal gave me.” I state, also trying to reassure her that I was going to be fine.

She nods, hugs me again, and leaves the room. I can hear them talking indiscreetly outside of my room. Then hear the front door. Ok good.

I take some deep breaths and follow Crystals instructions. I get on the floor, crisscross, and close my eyes. I focus on my breathing and I am aiming to have control over my mind, my body, my soul, and my power. I need to feel control and not lose it. I can feel chaotic pulses of energy throughout my body. Eventually I feel the pulses turn into a flow. I can feel the energy flowing through my body. After I feel control of my energy and mood, I move onto my yoga exercises. After I finish I head to the kitchen to get some water. I feel refreshed and really needed to quench my thirst with something refreshing. Coffee is unfortunately not the answer at this moment. Water is.

I slowly drink the cup. After I was finished I take a slow and deep breath in and then out. That’s when I hear the front door unlock and Caitlyn comes in with Maverick right behind her.

“Ok so I was able to track down all 3 girls. They are excited and will meet us there in about an hour. Sound good?” She asks excitedly. I nod with a smile. “You look much better now.” She adds and comes to give me an other hug.

“Can we leave earlier? I just really don’t want to be here right now.” I ask desperately. I can’t stand to be in this house or town right now..

“Yes. I already have received clearance from your father that we can head over there at any time. He had 2 more guards sent in last night. They will be there when we get there. So is everyone ready to leave now?” Maverick asks.

We nod and out the door we go.

As we start to drive off I see Sam walking in the direction of our house.. I let out a sigh of relief.

“Well you definitely had that timed perfectly.” Caitlyn says with a chuckle.

“I guess so.” I reply. Although I don’t want to talk to him or see him, something about him has always made me feel content and happy..

Caitlyn hooks up the aux to her phone and turns on music. I am thankful for the loud music. It helps drown out my thoughts.

We reach the mall and I was so excited to see our friends are already here as we park! How did they beat us here??

I jump out and run to Leilah’s jeep. I jump into the arms of Saige and Penny at the same time. Not sure how they caught me. I was running pretty fast and jumped at them. I start crying, which caused them to cry and hug me harder.

“I missed you guys so much!” I say blubbering. I see Leilah behind them and run to her and grab her. She seemed shocked but then hugged me back tight. “I missed you too” she said with a small chuckle.

“Ugh I’m a blubbering mess now! I missed you guys so much. I’m glad we could meet up today!” I say excitedly.

“Of course! How could we not meet up? We have missed you both so much!!! School and life just aren’t the same without either of you!!” Penny exclaims.

We walk in and go to a few stores. We decide to get lunch. When we get lunch at the mall here, we each go to a restaurant and get random stuff. Then we meet up together and share what we got. It’s one of my favorite traditions. We all sit down at a long table and share our little fast food buffet.

Tacos, fries, nuggets, pizza, tater tots, popcorn, soft pretzels, multiple drinks including slushees, lemonades, pops, etc. Yum!

By now it was 2pm and we need to head back. There was a chance of a storm rolling through soon. No one wants to get stuck out of town during a storm, or worse be driving through it..

We hug and promise to meet up tomorrow. We agree to meet up at least once a day until we leave.

After arriving home I realize I didn’t bring my charger. “My phone is dead. I’m going to go to the store and get a charger.” I say as I go to walk back out the door.

“Hold on. We will drive you.” Caitlyn demands. .

“No it is ok! I can walk there. It’s not that far away.” I reply. I didn’t want to put anyone out. Especially since we just were at the mall. I should have remembered there.

“No.” She says bluntly. Then turns and heads towards me and the door, “let’s go.” And we all went back out the door and load into the vehicle. They drive me to the store and Caitlyn says “we will just wait out here. We need to call dad. Well Maverick does for a check in, but I have a few things to talk to him about too.”

I shrug and get out. They parked in the closest spot to the door. Weird, but ok.

I go in and walk to the aisle with the electronics. Since they usually have an area just for chargers. I start looking to find one to fit my phone. It’s not the same charger as before. So I start comparing the piece to the part on my phone. Completely oblivious to my surroundings, until I begin to feel uncomfortable. Two people are standing on either side of me..

I look. Who else besides freaking Sarah and Hannah. I was REALLY hoping I didn’t have to deal with them while we were here. I decide to just ignore them and keep searching. That is until Sarah rips the package out of my hand and Hannah rips my phone out of my hand.

“Well look who decided to come to visit us!” Sarah said in a shrill forced voice.

“Yes. I see. It’s the giant freak. Clearly where ever they went, didn’t want her either. Not that I can say I blame them.” Hannah states disgusted.

“Guys I just need to buy a charger so I can go home.” I say annoyed with their childish games.

“Oh poor baby. Leaving already? Probably realizing she really never had a chance with Sam. You know, he has become quite the ladies man.” Sarah states with a smug smile.

“I really don’t care. You can have him. I just want my phone.” I reply.

“Oh, this phone? You want it? A freak like you doesn’t need a phone. A phone is a way people can contact each other. Freaks like you, have no one to talk to.” Hannah said in a b***h tone and she drops it on the ground.

They were making me start to feel myself lose control. My anger was beginning to bubble up. I need to get out of this situation before anything bad happens. I can feel the energy flowing chaotically through me. I can’t shake it.

I cannot control myself anymore and deck her in the face. I needed to do something to make them stop, and get out of there. I bend down, grab my phone, and leave them both in shock. As I turned the corner I saw that Sam was standing there and had most likely witnessed the entire thing. Causing me to sprint out of the store without buying a charger.

“All done?” Caitlyn asks.

“They didn’t have one. I’ll have to check back later, until then can I just use yours?” I ask out of breath as we leave and head home.

“Of course.” She replies with a smile.

I sunk into the backseat. Glad that is over… For now.
