Elle’s POV
We followed Lia to the training space we hadn’t been to in a while. When we stepped through I, felt the power inside me and felt like I was home again. Even though it had been a while, the lawn was perfectly manicured, and everything was tidy.
“What’s going on?” I asked. Lia pulled a tiny book out of her pocket and thumbed through the pages.
“I think I figured it out. I am going to try something, but I have to tell you a few things first. If this works, you will shift, and it can be painful. I think what’s wrong with you is there’s a draining spell cast on you that destroys your power when you try to shift. That’s why you can get started but not finish it. It fits your symptoms, but that’s not all.” She looked at me, and I didn’t say anything, waiting for her to continue.
