Chapter one
EMILY'S POV “I don't have forever, Emily!” Sebastine Harrington, my boss yelled. I was having the most demanding time, trying to pull three suitcases, and a bag with files, running behind Mr. Sebastine in my four-inch heels. “Enjoy the flight, Mr. Harrington,” the kind lady at the counter said. The entire airport kept staring at me weirdly, and no one was kind enough to offer any help, until we made it to the plane. I took a deep breath, falling into the seat. It had been four weeks at my new job in the Sebaton Group of companies and Sebastine being my boss was the worst thing to have happened to me in all the twenty-years of my life, and I've had to live in the slums my whole life. Sebastine was unbearable, but this was one of the many times I wasn't blessed with a lot of options, or any options at all. “The company doesn't condone laziness or sleeping on duty.” I felt a splash on my face, and jumped out of my seat, breathing heavily. I had slept off, enjoying the flight. Sebastine, however, had cut short my joy, pouring a glass of sparkling water on my face. Our flight had landed. “We're here on business. Keep up!” Sebastine said, alighting the plane. I wiped my face with a towel and followed behind him. It was my first time on a plane and it happened to be a private flight, but clearly, Sebastine was not going to understand why this was a massive luxury for me. He was an over-spoiled heir to the Sebaton Group of Companies, and even now at 25, his fingers were a wand that made whatever he wanted happen. “Paris, the city of love,” I whispered, as we walked from the car to the hotel reception. “Do you have nothing better to do than to fantasize irrelevance?” Sebastine attacked. ‘I could not seem to catch a breath around this man.’ I thought, and walked into the hotel. Mr. Sebastine and I were given rooms side by side with each other, as he had previously booked. He was a very needy man and I anticipated my first trip outside the states to be an unpleasant one. “Send me the presentation via email, and I expect you out in exactly three hours, so we proceed for the meeting,” Sebastine said, before slamming the door to his suite in my face. “Yes boss,” I responded in exasperation, and then moved to the next door. **************** “Sir, would you want me to do anything else for you?” I asked. At that moment, I was filled with fear. Sebastine had been graveyard silent since we left the meeting with the investors and I wasn't sure how to react. “I did it!” He said in a tone barely above a whisper. I watched him slowly as he turned around and stared at me. “This is the biggest contract of the company and I did it!” His voice was becoming louder and revealing his happiness. “Of course, you did, sir,” I responded with a faint smile. “Mother would be so proud.” He erupted in laughter. “I proved him wrong. I did!” I stood there, smiling sheepishly. It was the first time I was seeing Sebastine so light-hearted and I wasn't sure how to react to that. It was the direct opposite of the tough angry man I had known for four weeks now. I understood that this was a big deal for the company, but the deal wasn't going to bankrupt the company, so I wasn't sure why he was over himself. Sebastine moved over to the bar in his room and turned a glass of wine. “Here!” He handed me the glass. “Oh, no sir,” I politely declined, “I couldn't,” I struggled to be modest. “Common, join me,” he urged, “you put together a decent presentation, and deserve to be celebrated,” At this point, I was almost convinced I was having issues with my hearing. Compliments to my work was something I had never heard in four weeks, from my unapologetically hot boss. “Here!” He forced the glass into my hand before I got the chance to protest. Sebastine turned himself another glass and we were both seated on high stools, side by side with each other. “You know my father always believed that I will run the company to the ground when I take over,” Sebastine mumbled, now severely drunk. “Look who's climbing ladders he never saw!” He chuckled. “Lucky you, my father couldn't care any less if I lived or died,” I responded, chuckling too. I had equally had too much to drink, and now, Sebastine and I could bond over drunkenness and the terrible fathers we had. “After his divorce with my mother, I've been left to struggle to hold a family together, barely graduated college, thanks to a scholarship,” “And even now, I'm left here to work myself out with your overbearing a*s, just to pay my bills and that of my family.” Sebastine’s silence and glare immediately drew my attention to the fact that I was now talking too much and had said a lot of things that were out of place. “I'm so sorry sir,” I said, pushing my stool backward and coming down from it. I turned around to leave, but felt a firm grip around my wrist. I didn't dare to turn back. I was both embarrassed and terrified. While I was still thinking of the dreadful things Sebastine was going to do to me for abusing his kindness and the invitation extended to me, his firm grip pulled me backward, but not only did it pull me backward, I turned around and immediately felt his lips pressing against mine. Everything was happening pretty fast, but I could neither resist, nor could I stop myself from fully engaging. I wrapped my arms around his neck, and Sebastine pulled me in between his legs, seated on his high stool. In a short while, he got down, picking me off the floor from my thighs, and throwing my legs around his waist. The kisses of his lips were heavenly and his soft touch on my back shot me out of this world. Sebastine took me to the bed, and while I couldn't believe this was happening, I didn't want it to end. We were both undressed in seconds, and I was basking in the passion that was burning in both our hearts and eyes. “Argh!” I groaned in a mixture of pain and pleasure, as he thrust into me slowly.
