Chapter CVI - PREPARATION PART II August’s POV Days, days of just feeling nervous and ecstatic. A month passed ever since Venice and I exchanged plans about, you know, the marriage. Now that the days keep coming, I can’t help but feel the pressure and anxiety. It was so unlike the last few months when I felt extreme excitement. What if she declines? I swear I can never show my face to anyone again. But then again, it’s Suzanne, who is not like any other people. I’m confident in her. “Hey darling, you look pale.” Mom softly patted my back after looking intently at my nervous stricken face which was probably evident since the moment I stepped inside this house. I just nodded, and her face flashed the usual bright smile. I’m not fine, I truthfully answered her but only inside my head.
