Second Chance of Love

Today is our ten year anniversary but my husband is still in business trip and will be home in three days. I went to out to buy gift for him. I was thinking of buying a watch since he love checking time. I was wondering around the store when I saw a familiar figure. Jessica and her husband James. everyone calls them the "J J' loveteam since they're names both started with "J". Everyone in our friend group likes them but I don't. There is something about these two that I don't like. Maybe because everytime I'm with them they are eager to point out all the red flags in Henry that I don't see. I turn to leave immediately when I realize that they are walking towards me. "Please don't " I pray under my breath. "Amrhielle!' Jessica called me. "Oh my." I turn to face her and give a fake smile. "Hi! Jessica. James. Fancy seeing you here." I said to them, still smiling that I now they probably notice that it was fake. Jessica is wearing a fancy cocktail dress, her hair is neatly done like always while James is still in his working suit. Probably just got out of work. "Looking for a anniversary gift for your husband? Jessica said. "Yeah! Too bad Henry is still on business trip and not be home for three days. So I'm planing to surprise him when he gets back." I said while looking at the shelf full of fancy watch. "Henry is back. Didn't you know?" James said. "He's back?" I asked them. "Yeah! Just this morning." James and Henry work at the same company but in different department. Maybe that's why he knew. "Maybe he is planning to surprise you. I heard he made a reservation at Joanne's restaurant and want to throw a party there." Jessica said while playing with her nails. "And everyone is invited." James added. "You should head back now and prepare yourself. Wear your best dress and make yourself pretty." Jessica said while pushing me out of the store. "Remember to message me when you arrive at the restaurant. Okay?" I nodded then left. I'm confused. Henry never mention me about the reservation. Maybe its a surprise? But why he never call me or text me to come at restaurant. Just like what Jessica instructed me, I wear my best dress and make sure I look pretty. I message her before I arrive at the parking lot. She was already waiting in there with her husband James. They still wearing the same clothes this afternoon but something in them that is off. James looks like he just got into a fight while Jessica looks exhausted. "Amrhielle, whatever happens please know that we are always on you side. Okay." My heart skipped a beat. It seems that something bad is going to happen but I choose to ignore it. I smile at them and head inside. The restaurant is empty. Jessica points towards the private room. I walk towards the room but stop in front of the door. I look at James and Jessica. They look so nervous. I push the door open enough for me to see and hear whats happening inside. The music is lively and I can see that they were happy about something. " Diane, will you marry me?" It was Henry. He was on one knee holding a diamond ring. "Yes. I will!" he girl name Diane said while Henry immediately got up and put the ring on her fingers. Everyones clapping. Everyone is happy except me . " I don't understand. Henry is proposing to someone name Diane." My head is spinning and my hand is shaking. Henry and I are already married and today is our ten year anniversary. We even have two daughters. How come he propose to someone else if we are still married? I look inside again to confirm if the man was really Henry but he is indeed Henry. That tall, handsome with a little beard is Henry. He's even wearing the tie I bought for him. I look at Jessica and James who is now fuming with rage. I peek inside again. Everyone is in there. We have the same circle of friends and everyone is present except for Jessica and James whose with me right now. Henry's family is present. His parents, His two sisters and brothers even his grandma who rarely went outside her room due to her old age is now beaming with happiness. His boss and few co workers are all clapping and congratulating them. "What do you want to do now?" Jessica asked. I took a deep breath. I need to focus. I need to be strong and figure everything out before its too late. Ten years of being married. I sacrificed a lot for my family. I even quit my job just to take care of the family full time. But what did I get in return? Betrayal. Those so called circle of friends is now happy and congratulating them supporting his betrayal. I bet they all know about him cheating that why Jessica and James keeps on pointing out all of Henry's bad side. Now I knew. Now I realized why I never like these two. Its beacause they keep on hinting me that something is going on, that Henry is cheating but I was too blinded by love that I choose to ignore it. And his family? I thought we were close. So close enough that they entrusted me with there secrets. I now a lot of them actually. I can't believe they just accepted that girl even though they know that he is still married. The audacity of that man. We have kids. They were so little. He didn't even think about what his daughters would feel if they found out. they would be heart broken. They look up to him. As much as I want to barge in, hit him and cause a scene still, I need to think rationally first before doing something I might regret later. "Let them be happy for now." I turn and leave the restaurant with Jessica and James tailing on me. I wont let them humiliate me like this. I need to strike first before its too late. " Where are you going Amrhielle?" James asked me still walking behind me. "Are just waling away without doing anything?" Jessica said almost in whisper. I can see that she's so mad that her face turn red. " He cheated on you! You're not doing anything?" I stop and face them. My face now is red with anger while my hand is still uncontrollably shaking. Of course I want to to do something. I'm in so much pain right now but tears wont come out like my eyes was already dried with anger. I want to make his life worse than living in hell. But I need to be strong and brave and face it. I know Henry. He wont ask for divorce. He will do something and hurt me so that I give up. He will make everything like it was my fault. I wont let him. "I'm filing for divorce"
