“This is cheating..” they screamed in unison. “Aww.. look at the fallen faces” Venessa chuckled. “You are so mean” they pouted. “That everyone says, but that doesn’t mean I would make my beautiful roses sad. So… Bidbidii… babiddi… Boo…” circling her hands in the air and drawing back it to her bag Venessa quickly pulled out a fist full of chocolates and threw them in the air. “Yaayyy…” squealing the children collected the chocolates. “You are the best” they again squealed in unison. “So the only line between mean and best is just chocolates?” Venessa clapped her hands to draw the attention of kids who are busy collecting their chocolates. “Seriously Vena? We have been searching for you all over and you are here goofing around with kids? Do you even know remember where you have to be right now?” Wyatt quizzed placing hands on his hips. “Look how happy they are? I wish to be with the souls who are happy with the little things rather than those people who’s never been happy no matter what I do for them” a hint of disappointment danced in Venessa’s voice. “Things will get better soon, come we need to go” Wyatt kissed on her hair. “Bye kiddos” Venessa threw flying kisses towards the kids who squealed back at her. “Do you really feel I should be there? Can’t you handle that for me?” Venessa looked at Wyatt with her puppy eyes. “Enough Vena, I am not going to fall for your tricks this time. You just can’t keep avoiding things just for a few asses. You need to be there. It’s your hard work” Wyatt patted Venessa’s hand. “Why the hell do I get convinced hearing you every damn time?” Venessa pinched his hand. “After all, I am your guardian angel” Wyatt looked at her with a smug resulting in Venessa rolling her eyes. “What is this now?” Venessa grunted under her breath irritated. “One should always dress up for the job they do” Wyatt marked pushing Venessa towards the mirror. “Wrong one, one should dress up for the job they wish to do and I am all good. All I need is combing my messy hair, that’s it” Venessa remarked pulling out the band that’s holding her messy bun. “You got to be kidding me Vena, you are the A-listers who are going to attend the event. All eyes will be on you. For once hear my suggestions and get dressed up” Wyatt was serious. “The rules they mentioned is wearing something decent. It’s nowhere mentioned as fancy. I am good with my formals and if you want me at the event I am going this way and if you want to be dressed up you can do the honor, I will happily sit back” Venessa leaned back on the chair. “Surely a devil” Wyatt scratched his head grunting resulting in Venessa smiling. Combing her shoulder length hair using a comb, Venessa clutched it safe with a band into a pony. Her curly ended up on her neck. “How do I look?” Venessa quizzed washing her face. “Like a devil” Wyatt commented. “Then I am all ready for the event. Get set go” Venessa smiled pulling her bag over her shoulders. “Look Vena, I know you will never be intimidated but don’t be too much of yourself losing in your own world. Keep your eyes and ears wide, look out for the opportunities. We might stumble on something we are waiting for” Wyatt suggested Venessa all the way he drove her to the hotel. “Hotlight Star, looks smoking hot” Venessa commented looking at the tall building opposite to her where the investors event is taking place for which she received an invitation for the first time after years of hard work. “This is really absurd. I mean what is this stupid policy of not even letting you enter the top floor where the event is taking place? What is it with people coming all alone?” Venessa sounded irritated. “They are right in a way Vena, it will be better at times if the talks happen directly rather than having second fiddles, dealing with things, you just look out for the ideas where we can invest or try grabbing the interest of the willing and rightful investors who will be genuinely interested in investing with us” Wyatt smiled pressing the elevators button. “I will be here, just a call away whenever you need me. Rock it CEO” he kissed best of luck to Venessa while the elevators doors closed taking her upstairs. “You just be yourself Venessa” Venessa repeated to herself all the way to the top floor. The guards looked at her from top to bottom as soon as she came out of the elevator. “Hello Madam, how can I help you” a slim girl perfectly dressed in a knee length gown flashed a beautiful smile. “Hi, I am Venessa Harper, received an invitation for the A-listers investment meet” Venessa gave her invitation card to the girl. “Umm... Madam, I am sorry but you can’t go” the girl forced a smile on her lips. “Why? I had an invitation and this is my ID card” Venessa showed proof. “Madam, the thing is girls have to wear heels” she looked aside. Letting out a sigh Venessa stared straight at the girl. “I do know that, but ain’t that for the girls who can walk? I don’t think a girl in a wheelchair without heels would be a problem, right?” Venessa flashed a smile. The girl checked out Venessa from top to bottom. “Madam, the thing is I don’t think the investors might feel good having you inside, I am sorry” “Don’t be, but don’t you think they would have received an invitation from them without knowing that I am wheelchair bound? I don’t think they would have any qualms. Why don’t you check with them?” Venessa smiled. “Just a minute Mam” the girl went inside smiling, leaving Venessa outside the door with the guards staring at her like owls. “Come on guys, I know I am hot but that doesn’t mean you should keep gawking at me not concentrating on your work” Venessa took a jab at the guards growling at her. “I am sorry Madam, but we can’t allow you inside” the girl answered coming out of the room. “What? Why?” Venessa quizzed. “They don’t want you inside” she murmured. “Then why the hell did they send an invitation in the first place? I would have never been here in the first place if I had known people judge you based on the way you are and not the hard work you put in or talent you possess” Venessa fumed in anger. Pressing on her armrest to release brakes Venessa turned her wheelchair in opposite direction and moved towards the elevator. “I can do that myself” Venessa replied the guard who was about to press the elevator button for her. While she was about to enter the elevator, she stopped looking at the person exiting the elevator.
