From behind her, Sibyl heard Reyna scream. Dimly, she noted Darragh's dawning look of alarm as he glanced worriedly in her direction. When he realized that Reyna herself was not in any immediate peril, he followed her line of sight to the front of the room.
Heart sinking, she turned to see what they were seeing.
"Van?" she screamed, using her shield to fend off another attacker. "What are you - "
Then she saw Griffin at the vampire's feet, on his knees, green eyes staring with terror in her direction. When the creature suddenly appeared behind him, she knew they were done for.
She shrieked, fighting as hard and fast as she could in an effort to get to the front dais. There were too many draugar; they crowded her, new warriors replacing the fallen faster than even she could move.
