Darragh and Sibyl ran, juggling their unconscious burdens as they raced toward what they hoped was freedom. It had taken them two days to get to the castle; if it took them two days to return, Griffin would almost certainly die. The turning process took a grisly toll on the body; it required the turned to die and then be reborn anew. The fabric of his being had been torn apart, then stitched into something new.
