Chapter 12

1363 Words
Li Han found himself standing in front of what he hoped was the twins’ house. He had tried his best to memorize the route they had taken when they picked him up that night, but navigating unfamiliar roads in the dark wasn’t easy. The mansion was much farther than he had imagined—probably because they always traveled by car. Sadly, Li Han had been forced to dip into his limited pocket money for a bus ride here. He wanted to cry over his poverty but stubbornly refused to let the feeling show. He couldn’t even imagine how he would manage to get back home. Taking a steadying breath, Li Han pressed the bell on the tall gate. He waited for what felt like forever before a man’s face appeared on the small security screen, startling him so badly he nearly jumped.. “Who are you?” “I am Li Han, a schoolmate of Yo Han and Yo Sun. I came to deliver their books for the exams next week.” “Alright,” the man replied curtly. The screen went black. A full minute passed before the gate finally clicked and slowly swung open. The same burly man stepped out, took the heavy stack of books from Li Han’s arms with a single nod, then turned and locked the gate again without another word. Li Han sighed, turned around, and started the long walk back toward the bus stop. He had barely taken ten steps when strong arms suddenly lifted him off the ground. He flailed wildly, heart racing at the thought of being kidn*pped—until a familiar, aggravating, grating voice rang out behind him. “Fu Fu! You came to see us!” Li Han instantly recognized Yo Sun's voice. “What are you doing? Put me down!” “No way, Fu Fu. Let’s go inside the house.” Yo Sun carried the still-flailing beta through the gate and into the mansion without the slightest effort. “Alright, put me down. I’ve delivered what I came to deliver.” “How about you stay for dessert? But first, let’s go surprise my brother.” Yo Sun ignored the request entirely. Li Han quickly realized struggling was pointless and went limp in resignation. They reached the bedroom where Li Han had once slept—the one that clearly belonged to Yo Han. Yo Sun finally set him down gently. Yo Han was lounging on the bed in nothing but boxer shorts, casually playing games on his phone. Li Han immediately turned away, cheeks burning with embarrassment at the sight of so much exposed skin. Yo Han only seemed to notice them then. He tossed his phone aside, stood up in one fluid motion, and wrapped his arms around Li Han from behind, hugging the shy beta tightly against his bare chest. “Fu Fu, you finally came to visit us,” Yo Han murmured, pressing a lingering kiss to the fabric covering Li Han’s back. “Put on some clothes, you half-wit,” Li Han muttered, trying to squirm free. “Aww, is my Fu Fu bothered that I’m not wearing any clothes?” Yo Han teased, pulling him even closer until Li Han’s backside pressed directly against his crotch. Li Han’s eyes widened in alarm. “You zebra, let me go!”Yo Han released him immediately when he caught his brother’s murderous glare. “Okay, fine. I’ll put on some clothes.” A little while later, Li Han sat at the dining table eating warm egg tarts and sweet tangyuan. Every time he glanced up, he found both twins watching him with intense, almost reverent interest. He rolled his eyes at them and continued eating, pretending not to notice. When he finally finished, he murmured a quiet “Thank you.” “It’s our duty, Fu Fu,” Yo Sun said warmly.“Shall we drop you home? It’s already late.” “No, thank you.” “Our Fu Fu is so cute.” They leaned in at the same time and planted long and very wet lingering kisses on both of his cheeks. Li Han didn’t dare wipe them away while they were watching. Only after he had left the house did he finally scrub at his face with the back of his hand. As he sat on the bus ride home, dread settled in his stomach. It was already well past dinner time, and his father would be back. He was going to be in big trouble. His prediction came true the moment he stepped through the front door. His father launched into him immediately. “Where were you, Li Han? You didn’t even inform your mother!” Li Han bowed deeply. “I’m sorry, Father, Mother. I didn’t mean to make you worry. I went to my friends’ house to deliver materials for the upcoming exams.” Elder Huang’s stern expression softened slightly at the explanation. “Don’t ever do that again. Do you understand?” Li Han bowed again and nodded quickly. His father gave a short grunt and returned to his room. Li Han bowed once more to his mother before heading to take a bath. When he came out dressed in clean clothes, he settled down to read—until his bedroom door opened quietly. His mother stepped in carrying a tray with a simple bowl of rice and several side dishes. Li Han took the tray from her with both hands. “Thank you, Mother.” “Eat,” she said gently, a small smile on her face. Li Han couldn’t help but smile back, warmth spreading through his chest. Monday arrived, and Li Han felt no pressure during the exams. He had studied thoroughly, so the questions felt manageable, almost easy. The twins, on the other hand, were in a terrible mood—too busy with their own exams to seek out their “husband.” They told themselves to be patient; the final paper was on Friday, and then they would have all the time in the world. After the last exam on Friday, the twins practically ran through the hallways in search of Li Han. They found him in the library, as expected, quietly reading. “Our Fu Fu is so hardworking—even after exams, he’s still reading,” one of them said fondly. They slid into the seats on either side of him. Li Han rolled his eyes and ignored them, which they somehow found adorable. “Fu Fu, we have a huge headache,” Yo Sun whined. “Can’t you make us feel better?” Li Han glanced at him. “What does that have to do with me? You can go to the nurse’s office and ask for medicine.” “Oh, our Fu Fu is so innocent. Medicine isn’t always the answer to everything.” Yo Sun leaned in closer. Li Han tried to shift away, but he was already trapped between Yo Han’s broad chest and the table.Warm, soft lips suddenly pressed against the side of his neck. Then another pair found his own mouth. Yo Sun deepened the kiss immediately, slipping his tongue inside, tasting every corner, savoring the faint sweetness that still lingered from the candy he just ate. Li Han froze. A hand—Yo Han’s, probably—slid under his shirt, teasing the skin of his stomach. Another, firmer hand groped his backside possessively.Yo Sun finally pulled back slowly. A thin string of saliva connected their lips for a brief second before breaking. Li Han’s face burned. “Why… why’d you do that? I-I’m not an omega.” “It doesn’t matter,” Yo Sun said softly. “We want you.”Li Han scrambled out from between them in a panic, the tips of his ears flaming red. “Don-don’t do that again,” he stuttered, voice cracking slightly. Then he fled the library as fast as his legs could carry him. Behind him, the twins chuckled quietly to themselves, trying (and failing) to hide how much the encounter had affected them—both breathing harder than usual, hands subtly adjusting the front of their uniforms.
