Chapter 1 - THE WEDDING
Desperate Isla.
"Where are you?" Isla was sitting outside the office.
"I'm outside our company."
"We've been at the church waiting for you for almost two hours now."
"I don't think I want to get married."
"You don't have a choice, Isla. This marriage will save our family from bankruptcy. Don't be selfish, don't think only of yourself. We depend on this union to save our company."
"I don't want to marry a man I don't know. I already said I can save the company from bankruptcy."
"Isla, this marriage is the only solution to save the company from ruin. Don't ruin this opportunity. Act like a Morgan. The guests are waiting. This wedding cannot be canceled. Get to the church now!"
"I thought weddings happened when two people loved each other. I don't think I want to get married today. Can't we postpone the wedding?"
"Of course not. The Atlas family wouldn't allow such disrespect. This wedding was planned months ago. We can't postpone it just because you changed your mind. Where are you?"
"I'm outside the office."
"Are you alone?"
"I'm waiting for Kai. I'm dressed like a bride. My dress feels like a death sentence. I love Kai and I don't want to marry anyone else. I'm leaving with him, far away from here."
"Don't you dare run off with that baker. Don't ruin our family, Isla, do you hear me?"
The call cut off as Kai arrived on his motorcycle to find Isla crying, her black tears staining the white dress worth millions. Kai hugged her, put her on the bike, and they sped away from the city.
Tears streamed from Isla's eyes as she held onto Kai on the motorcycle.
It was supposed to be a memorable day that would unite two great families and pull the Morgan family out of bankruptcy.
The people in the church began to worry about the bride's endless delay. Finally, Mr. Morgan, with a worried expression and his head bowed, told Ezra Atlas that Isla Morgan had run away.
The moment Ezra Atlas heard this, he shouted.
"Stop the whispering. Today is my wedding, behave yourselves."
"What do you mean? The wedding can't take place, didn't you hear what I said? Isla ran away."
"I know. That's not a problem. I'll go get my wife and bring her here."
"But, sir, we don't know where my daughter is!"
"I know where she is, and I'll go get her."
"How do you know?"
"That doesn't matter. I'm going to get her now."
The guests were left bewildered. A silence fell over the church as Ezra Atlas walked out of the church towards his car.
When he reached his car door, he shouted.
"Ladies and gentlemen, just wait fifteen more minutes. The bride is on her way."
At that moment, five cars left with Ezra Atlas to retrieve his bride. He knew exactly where to go. Even before the wedding, he had placed a small tracker in Isla's dress. Now, he just had to follow it.
Meanwhile, on the road, Kai's motorcycle began to sputter, and the headlight went out, leaving them in total darkness. The signal from the tracker on Ezra's phone blinked strongly, showing he was only two kilometers away.
