Dinner?

my vision became blurry and I blanked out.

When I woke up, I felt my head ache as I tried to remember how I slept off

slowly, the memories began to flood in, it all seemed like it was just a very scary nightmare .

I looked around and realised that I was in the hospital. I tried to move my body but the sound of am alarm going off scared me, putting me back in place .

Almost as though the alarm was meant to notify them, three people walked in.

The first one was dressed in a lab coat indicating that he was a doctor, the second , was a young woman who wore a pair of grey trousers and shirt.

And the last was a woman who looked like she was a model in her younger days. she looked approximately fifty, but I wouldn't be so sure would I?

" how do you feel?miss?" The doctor asked indicating that he was asking for my name

" Annabelle Roblins" I answered still unsure of if i could trust him or should I say" them'.

I think the nurse or lady in grey wrote my name down because I saw her write something down immediately i said my name.

" How do you feel dear" it was the beautiful woman that spoke this time as she came to sit beside me on the bed .

" fine" I said with a smile she seemed friendly and I was ready to reciprocate it ...

" are you sure?" she asked and I could see her scanning me with her eyes. I smiled deeply, she reminded me of my mum. I'm sure she will do even worse if she hears about my supposed accident.

" I'm really fine" I said and smiled to make her more at ease

" like I said ma , it's just shock, she has no internal or external injuries" the doctor said and made a face, it seemed the woman had been pressuring them about my health status.

" you can go now, she said somewhat angrily to the doctor who sauntered out immediately with the the nurse trailing behind him.

she then turned back to me,all traces of anger gone from her face.

" listen dear, I'm Soo sorry that I almost ran you over , believe me, it was totally not intentional" she said in a soft voice .

" I know, " I began ." I also have a bit of fault , I shouldn't have crossed or even walked without looking, I just had something on my mind" i said as I remembered Xavier.

" is it something you would like to share?" she said , her beautiful smile back to her face

" nooo" I said and chuckled nervously , I wasn't ready to share my life story with someone I just met and didn't completely trust yet

" it's fine if you don't want to talk about it" she said and stood up, still facing me

" you know what? I would really like to pay back for almost running you over" she said with enthusiasm

" no, no, no ma , you really don't have to worry, it's really fine" I said. most of it was my fault and so, I couldn't just watch her take all the blame.

" I insist, how about dinner? tommorow night?" she said and turned towards the door.

i didn't know what to say , I could just refuse her when she was trying so hard to make up.

I simply nodded as she flashed me a toothy smile and went towards the door.

" lest I forget, you will be discharged today, make sure to use your medicines okay, I have to go now , my driver will take you home" she said and just as she was about to close the door, she put her head back in and said " and don't bother going to work I had it covered"

wait what I thought to myself so she knew who I was before i even said it. so the doctor asking me my name was for what ? to fulfil all righteousness?

I made my way out of bed as I wondered who that woman was. she had information about me before i even knew it, and , I looked round the room, It looked like, no, it was a private ward. Wow, it felt really good to be treated in a private ward for the first time .But now I wasn't so sure about the dinner, she might just be a kidnapper or she might have just been bluffing.

And then I remembered something, I had forgotten to ask her for her name.

I walked out of the room and looked around, the hospital looked like a really good one. but just like the private room it also looked expensive

behind me I heard someone clearing their throat.

making me jump in fright.

" I'm So sorry miss" I heard him say as I turned to look at him but I couldn't swear that he was stifling a chuckle.

He was a young man and he looked really handsome, but he wasn't anywhere close to Xavier's handsomeness. Arrrr, could I just do without thinking about him in everything?

" it's fine" I said and turned to walk away from Him. I wasn't interested in whatever he had to say.

" please wait miss" he said making me halt .

" my name is Andrew and I have been assigned to take you home" he continued.

" well, you can go, I will find my way" I said and made to leave. I was still angry that he tried to scare me

" please don't , I will get fired if you do" he said and I could hear a bit of pleading in his voice.

" I rolled my eyes lightly, a part of me wanted him to get fired, but kindness syndrome which I had forbid me from seeing anyone hurt or sad especially if I was the cause .

" please miss, my second was fired this morning for almost running you over and I definitely do not want to be part of that list" he said pleading sincerely.

I turned my head towards him as I couldn't believe what I just heard

" what?"
