Chapter 10- An Unexpected Visit

As evening descended on the day of the visit, the tension that had gripped the university slowly began to wane. Surprisingly, none of the noble students had attempted to belittle their commoner counterparts. The profound impact of Layla's intervention resonated throughout the institution. Her presence as a noble attending an all-commoner university and her defense of the commoner students had left an indelible mark on the collective consciousness.

Liam, Jaime, and Zargel found themselves in the common area of Liam's luxurious dormitory. It was a room that rivaled a castle in its opulence, complete with ornate balconies, sumptuous furnishings, and all the trappings of wealth. These were the luxuries afforded to those blessed with privilege.

Amid their discussions about the morning's events, a distinct knock echoed through the room, and the three friends exchanged hesitant glances. With Zargel present, the visit held an air of uncertainty. However, when Zargel indicated that they should answer, Jaime stepped forward to open the door.

Standing in the hallway were two unexpected guests – the university's Dean, Miss Diane Ravenscroft, and a figure they now recognized as Layla. Zargel's signal prompted Jaime to close the door, leaving Liam and Jaime bewildered by the sudden intrusion.

The room's atmosphere grew inquisitive, but it was Zargel who broke the silence, speaking in a calm and composed tone. "Everyone, I'd like you to meet Diane. She's an old friend of mine and shares the same dream as I do. And the young lady beside her is Layla, who is Diane's apprentice."

Liam and Jaime exchanged surprised glances and then turned to the esteemed Dean of their university. Jaime took the lead, offering a greeting with a hint of curiosity, "Good evening, Miss Ravenscroft. It's an honor to have you visit us." Liam echoed the sentiment with a nod of agreement.

Zargel, observing the exchange, couldn't help but wonder how this unexpected visit would shape their journey for justice and equality in the Ash Empire.
