Chapter 0- Ash Empire

533 Words
In the land of the Ash Empire, a nation steeped in tradition, a rigid class system reigned supreme. The population was divided into three distinct classes: the exalted Nobles, the hardworking Commoners, and the subjugated Rats. The classes defined every aspect of life, from social standing to occupation, and the divisions ran deep. Among the Ash Empire's people, those who showed exceptional potential in swordsmanship through hard work or innate talent could aspire to become Knights, protectors of the empire. Those who exhibited a gift for alchemy, the ancient art of transmutation, followed a different path to become Alchemists, harnessing the power of the elements. The highest echelons of society were the Nobles, privileged and influential, while the Commoners formed the backbone of the empire, toiling to support the system. At the lowest rung were the Rats, slaves bound by their servitude. In this world, there were seven major families that held immense political influence within the Ash Empire. The Vitiate Family, Kudrow Family, Kenwood Family, Stephen Family, and Prometheus Family were among the esteemed elite, their names synonymous with power and wealth. And to maintain order and security in the empire, Knights were further divided into distinct categories, each with its own role and responsibilities. The hierarchy began with Disciple Knights, the foot soldiers who patrolled the cities and kept petty criminals in check. They were the lowest rank, yet crucial to maintaining law and order. Above them were the Regular Knights, charged with overseeing and leading the Disciple Knights in each district of a city. A tier higher stood the General Knights, the protectors of entire cities. Each city had its own General Knight who was in charge of the Regular Knights and maintained law and order within city walls. The upper echelons included the Commander Knights, responsible for entire states within the Ash Empire. Ten to twelve General Knights reported to them, ensuring the empire's vast territories were governed and safeguarded. At the apex of the hierarchy were the Sacred Knights, an elite force of only twelve individuals, the most skilled and revered of all Knights. Many hailed from the seven great families, making their presence in the Ash Empire's political landscape even more significant. In parallel, the Alchemists were divided into their own categories, mastering the ancient art of alchemy to serve the empire. The journey of Alchemists mirrored that of the Knights, with ranks such as Novice Alchemists, Master Alchemists, and Grand Alchemists, each contributing to the prosperity and stability of the Ash Empire. Within this complex and stratified society, our story unfolds. In the heart of this nation lies a young man who defies the expectations of his class and dares to dream of change. His name is Liam Kenwood, a member of the noble class with a heart that carries sympathy for the oppressed Rats. Liam's path will lead him to question the very foundations of the Ash Empire and challenge the corrupt system. As we embark on this journey, we explore a world where tradition and oppression clash with dreams of justice and liberation. In the Ash Empire, the struggle for a better future begins with one young man's unwavering belief that change is possible.
