Kaila's Pov **At the Astro Pack** "This is your room my princess" The guard bowed as he opened the giant door "Woah" Stella gasped as we walked into the room. I walked straight to chair by the window, impressed by the softness as I crashed on it, but that was all I allowed myself see. How did I get here? How did I find myself in this situation? How can all these happen to one person in the space of one week?. First, I got rejected by my mate, I ran into the forest and almost lost my life, surprisingly I was found and helped by weird strangers, and when I returned home I was hit with an order of marriage. How is it even possible to marry someone you've never seen or even heard off. I always hoped that I'll get married to a man I love, I mean Jacob though, he's the only person I've ever loved. I never thought I'd be caught up in a loveless marriage, or be shipped from my pack to another pack with my boxes and a maid. "Do you need anything my princess?" Stella was more than a maid though, she's also a friend, a close friend. I remained quiet, if I tell her what I want, I doubt she'll be able to give it to me. "Come on" Her voice was full of excitement "Your room is beautiful!" Her voice swayed away a bit, "This place is marvellous, it's perfect". Can anywhere that isn't home be perfect?. "Come on, you've been sour since we left the palace" She pushed my head up. "Can you please let me be Stella" My eyes lazily took in a few details of the room, Stella wasn't joking. "Look on the bright side, you're going to be a queen here" The smile on her face was so wide. I'd rather be Jacob's Queen. The door swung open and a woman dressed in lush robes and diamonds appeared, I didn't need anyone to tell me who she was, her aura was loud enough, Queen Nala. "My Queen!" Stella and I immediately rose and bowed. "You look amazing precious one" She stood by the door, carefully scruntinizing me. My head remained bowed as she walked into the room and her heels stopped clicking directly in front me. "Leave us" Slowly I looked up and watched Stella leave the room. "Sit" She lowered me carefully with her hand. "Your eyes" She gasped when I turned to her, I couldn't detect what exactly the surprise was for because I couldn't look at her, it didn't feel right to look at her. "They are beautiful" She lifted my chin to continue admiring my eyes. "Thank you my Queen" I finally looked at her, her eyes gave me a weird feeling. "I know the order was sudden, and you didn't expect to be here, but you should be honoured to be here as my son's wife, the Luna of this mighty pack, that's after your wedding tomorrow" She talked fast, and with esteem. "Everything you need will be provided for you, a you need to do is ask and the maids will be at your service". "Okay my Queen" It wasn't shyness, neither was it fear, but I just couldn't look her in the eyes. "It is impossible that I let you know this before you find out in a bad way" She moved closer. "My son, Kael, he is not in a good place, I mean his heart is not in a good place". "What?" I knew something was wrong, the whole operation had been fishy from the beginning, what could possibly be wrong with him?. "It's nothing to be scared of" she giggled softly "It's not that he doesn't have a good heart, he does, it's not just in the right place, do you understand?". I didn't understand, so I didn't respond. "Well" She took a deep breath "He lost his fiancée in a car crash six months ago, her body was barely in place" The room felt cold all of a sudden. "But he survived, with a few scratches of course". The room fell silent. "And he hadn't been able to move past it" Slipped out of my tongue. "Yes" She sighed deeply. There was another small silence. "Give him time" It didn't sound like an advice, but it was. "Okay" I simply answered. "Get ready, tonight is the festival of stripes, and he will announce you to the pack today before your wedding tomorrow" With that, she gave me a nod and walked out of the room. How does one go from being in love, to being in a loveless marriage? What kind of relationship am I going to have with him someone whose heart is cold. "I just met someone!" Stella shrieked as she walked back into the room "Who?" I didn't care at all, but I'd listen to anything but dwell in my own predicament. "His name is Ramon, he's the Prince's wingman, he wanted to see you though but I told him you were with the queen" She sat down, the smile on her face getting wider by the second "He told me about a festival tonight, you need to start getting ready!". **Six Hours Later** The outdoor space was full to the brim, and this confirmed the rumours, the Astro pack is actually the largest and most populated pack. This is without contest the biggest and most elaborate festival I've ever been to in my life. This music was loud and spirits were high, long coloured stripes of cotton were dripping from the skyline. The whole ambience was exotic, from the lights to the decoration to the clothes the people had on, this is a high class pack, not settling for anything other than luxurious and bright. That's all I saw from the window, I was in a dark room waiting for my 'husband' to come so we would walk in together. "I wish I was celebrating with them" I whispered to myself "But they are celebrating because of you" The bold familiar voice echoed from behind me. I turned but my eyes met a bigger suprise, my eyes widened and the hairs on my body stood stiff, the scar, his scent, how could he be the one from the woods?. His eyes lazily met mine and turned as fast as it came, but there was no doubt, he is the scarred handsome prince who saved me in the woods. "This is my son, the prince and soon to be king, Kael" With her announcement he walked closer to me, his eyes colder than the first time I saw him in the woods. "Kael, this is Kaila, your soon to be wife" Queen Nala announced victoriously. Breathing became harder for me, I couldn't wrap my head around what was happening. "Go! Announce her to the people" She laughed, urging us to go. His hands grabbed my hands with a small force, they were cold, he was cold. "It's just a title you're here to take, nothing more, don't mess this up" His cold voice echoed in my head. He didn't even look at me when he spoke, there's nothing warm about him. "I know" I tried to spite him. "Good!".
