Chapter Seventeen

I cupped my face with my hands, I don't think I would be able to see my mom in that state. My heart wouldn't take it. I just can't. I was blaming myself why did I let her leave alone, and why didn't I remember the tinkle. "I wish I could turn back time.", I whispered but I don't think it is that audible for them to hear because of my messy sobs. "Do you really want to?", I looked down at Evan and was confused at his question. "What?", I asked him as Albert and Steve was confused to what are we talking about. "If you could, do you really want to? No matter what the consequence is? No matter if you lost something from you so the time can go back?", he asked. "Evan, what are you saying?", Albert said, but Evan ignored him. Although it was a bit of childish, I suddenly hoped that I wish even childish things to become true. I nodded as if it would be true. At that time, I just thought of one thing: hope that mom would come back to me. He stood up and pulled me somewhere I don't know, and totally ignored Albert and Steve calling for us. At that time, my mind was blank. I just let Evan drag me somewhere. I don't know, there's a slight bit of hope and trust when Evan was holding my hand. I didn't notice that we were at the roof top. He gently let me go and faced me. "What are we doing here--", I was cut off when he cupped my cheeks and kissed me. Emotions overflowed in me, all my thoughts are jumbled. I was asking myself why is did he kissed me all of a sudden. Of all time, at times like this. I wasn't able to move, I just closed my eyes, until I was drowned by his kiss, and the darkness. --- I flutter my eyes open, as I felt a familiar feel—I feel sick. I looked around and saw my mother walking from the door. I sat up and I started to cry the moment I saw her. I ran up towards her. "What's wrong, what's wrong?", she placed the tray of food on the bed, as she was rubbing my back. "Mom, you're here. You're back.", I said and cried in her arms. "I won't go anywhere else. Shh.", she said as she tried to calm me down. "Did you have a bad dream?", she asked. "It's worst than a bad dream.", I said in between my sobs as I wailed. "Don't worry I am here now.", she said and rubbed my back. My phone suddenly rang. I brushed away my tears and stood up, answering my phone. "Hello? Mrs. Kim?", I was able to talk calmly. By that time, I know what will happen, so I picked the call instead. I can't afford to lose my mom anymore. "You need the dress? Can I just deliver it tomorrow?", I asked. Mom was about to take my phone from me but I stopped her. This is for her sake. For our sake. "Yes, I understand. Okay, thank you Mrs. Kim.", I said and ended the call. "I'm going to deliver it tomorrow.", I firmly said, which she just laughed. "You aren't even well yet.", she said. "I'll be well soon.", I said and engulf her in my arms for a hug. "I missed you, mom.", I whispered. "What's wrong with you? I just went downstairs to get your food.", she said. "Whatever. I just miss you.", I said and she just chuckled and ruffled my hair. The doorbell rang. My mom let go off of me and went downstairs, as I took a blanket and covered my body before following her behind. "Hello Mrs. Lee. Hi Seoji.", David greeted as the other boys greeted, too. "Are you sick?", Ruben asked. I nodded. "Aww. Our Seoji is sick.", Steve said. It was the same line he said before. I just smiled. I looked behind them and looked who came. "Why are you here?", I asked them, still waiting for the others to come inside. "We went here to hang out and surprise you, but it looks like we are more surprised.", Kurt said and chuckled. "But where's Evan?", I asked them, which they just looked at me weirdly. "Who?", Jorge asked. "Evan?", I asked. "Who's Evan? Are you seeing things we are not able to see?", Ben asked and looked towards the door and shivered. What are they saying? "Evan.", I said again, which they just looked confused. "Evan? Did you guys forget him?", I asked again. Why are they acting like they don't know Evan. "What are you talking about, Seoji? What's happening to you?", David asked worriedly and added, "We don't know any Evan, Seoji.", David said seriously, as silence filled the living room. I waited for them to say, "Just kidding!", or, "It's still april so, april fools!" but they looked serious. They looked too serious. I slumped on the couch in confusion and realization. I think I remember who he really was. to be continued...
