Chapter Eighteen

1098 Words
It's been just a week since I last saw Evan, but it felt like decades had passed. I found myself missing him. "You've been drawing a lot of that person for a week.", Albert said as he was watching with interest at the screen of my monitor while his chin rested on his palm and his elbow rest above my table. He added, "You still aren't drawing his eyes in every drawing you had.", he said. "I like that drawing of yours, Seoji.", Ben commented and smiled after taking a glance at my monitor. Of course, Ben. You're the closest person to him. I want to tell him that, but I just smiled. "I don't know, I don't feel like continuing his eyes yet. I feel like if I do, I would just miss him more.", I looked at Albert. "What was that? You sounded like you knew him for ages.", Steve commented. "I do.", I said and continued detailing my drawing. It hurts that you are the only person who can remember someone. "He's that person she's talking about last time.", David said. I don't know why even David doesn't remember him. "I don't want to force you guys to remember him, but I just want to let you remember his name at least.", I smiled bitterly. They just nodded. After everything had happen, I never saw Sean, Jack, or Al. The boys remember that guys, but don't remember Evan. "Seoji? Are you crying?", Albert must have noticed my tears, so I looked away and brushed them off. I saved my work and turned off my computer. "Are you okay, Seoji?", Jorge asked. "I am.", I tried not to stutter, but I think I didn't try my very best. "Where are you going?", Ruben and Kurt asked simultaneously which made me pause for a moment. But then, I found myself slipped into a trench coat, and took my purse. "I'm going somewhere, I'll be back.", I said and smiled before running downstairs. --- I was stuck up feeling mad and thankful towards Evan, and being regretful about myself. Mad, for him being gone all of a sudden. And thankful that because of him, my mom was back. Regretful about myself not remembering him as that companion I had years ago. That time, he found me, and I didn't imagine myself searching to find him. I looked at the closed door of the elevator as I impatiently wait for it to go down. When it opened, I I immediately ran inside and pressed the close button for it to go up. But before it closed, I saw in between the doors of the elevator, a familiar figure I have been wanting to see after a few while now. I pressed the 2nd floor button and when it opened, I ran outside and ran on the staircase. I even tripped my foot at one of the stair of the  staircase, making my ankle sprained. But I endured it. I endured it all. I went back to where I saw him, and found nothing. I went for a few rounds and found no Evan, so I went back at the elevator. I wish he's on the realms.  Just finding him there, it would be enough, I would be at peace. I pressed the button and the moment I went out to the floor of the realms, it's a normal hotel. I tried to go to every floor, but it was just a normal hotel. I went outside the hotel, and went to a nearest bench to sit. I looked at my left ankle and it was already swollen. I tried to stretch it a bit, but it never helped the swollen. I sighed and looked up at the sky. Why is everything is slipping on my hands. "Oh, no.", I was startled when I heard a familiar voice. "You ran a lot.", he squatted and lifted my foot gently before smiling at me. That's it. It triggered all of the tears I have kept for a while. Why did he appeared just now? "Why are you crying? Gosh, such a baby.", he said and patted my back. "Jack.", I wailed and cried like a kid. I didn't even care even if the passers by are looking weirdly about me. He pushed me off gently and wiped my tears. "Stop crying already! Look at the people looking at you.", he said and rolled his eyes. "I don't care!", I yelled at him and hit his chest. He laughed and held his chest and said, "That hurts! What was that for?" "That's for appearing just now!", I yelled. "Why are you yelling?", he yelled back. "You're so annoying!", I yelled back. We looked at each other and burst into laughter. "Stop it already, you look like a mess. Heck, you look like you lose your sane.", he said and brushed the strands of my hair off of my face. "Did you come there to go to the realms?", he pointed at the hotel and asked. I nodded. "Didn't David tell you we moved to a different place?", he asked. "What? He didn't tell anything.", I said. I'm going to beat him later. "That brat, really.", he said and shook his head. "Why are you going at the realms?", he asked. "I'm looking for someone.", I said. "Evan?", he asked, anticipating my answer as if he already know what answer that was. I kept silent. I heard him chuckle. "I know it's Evan.", he said and paused before saying, "But, Evan's not there.", he said and sighed. "He hasn't been back for a while now. No one knows where he had been gone.", he said and stood up before dusting his hands. "He's not there?", I asked. Although Jack looked serious, I don't want to believe him. "Yes. So let me send you to your house and let's treat your sprain.", he said before sitting squatting in front of me, this time, facing his back against me. I sighed. Now, I faced my own defeat. I climbed on his back and he held my legs before standing up. I don't know anymore. It was quiet until he spoke, "Don't worry, you'll get to see him.", he said. "When do you think will it be?", I asked. "Later? Tomorrow? The other days later? Next week? Next month? Next year? I don't really know, but you know, time flies so fast.", he said and chuckled. "Oh, I forgot, he's holding the time.", I smiled. "Indeed, a son of time deity.", he commented. to be continued...
