Tinkle

Chapter Nineteen

I opened my eyes and realized I was in a field full of fog in broad daylight.

I don't know why I was there, but I heard something that I haven't heard in a while.

Tinkle.

No one was there except me.

So why would it tinkle?

I felt a bit anxious and I have no idea what was there.

After that, all I was hearing was the deafening static sound.

"Seoji.", I heard someone called.

It was a voice of a girl. It sounded like a voice from a little girl.

"Seoji.", she called again, which made me look around, but no one was there.

Bit by bit,  it feels a bit creepy.

Because one, I am alone in this place I don't even know where. And two, I can't see on the other side because of the fog, which means, if something scary appears, how would I know what to do next?

Then I realized something.

The voice of the girl.

It sounds familiar.

Like I have heard her somewhere but I don't know when or where.

"Seoji.", it was the last call I heard, the voice faded.

I blinked and flutter my eyes open.

It was just a dream. That was a relief.

It feels cold but it felt warm at the same time.

The view of my messy study table greeted me.

When senses came back to me, I can feel something heavy on my legs and waist.

I can also feel something on my hand.

With a blurry vision, I blinked and looked at my hands.

It was wrapped with something.

I should say, someone's hands.

That's when I felt a panic.

But come to think of it, why does it look so familiar?

I tilted my head slightly but stopped when this someone just hugged me tight from behind, and intertwined his fingers on mine.

I can smell a spring scent from him and if I am not wrong, it smelled like one of David's perfume.

And that made me feel more panicky because why would David act like this? And what is he doing here inside my room?

Then I heard a sigh from behind.

"Don't move, I'm trying to get some sleep.", he whined.

Hearing his voice, I froze.

So it was him.

If this was a dream, I hope I won't wake up too soon.

I quickly moved and face him, only to see his eyes closed.

I blinked my eyes repetitively and realized it was really him.

He opened one of his eyes and smiled.

"Good morning.", he greeted.

"Do I have some eye booger or dry saliva on my face?", he asked, which made me grunt.

"That was gross.", I complained. "You freak. Where have you gone?", I asked him. I was a bit mad. Because I can.

"I'm sorry. The higher ups punished me and banned me to stay here.", he explained.

"You freak. You didn't have to play mysteries and puzzles with me. Why didn't you just say that you are Jiji who's able to control time, and gave me that pocket watch as a gift?", I rolled my eyes at him.

"To make it fun.", he just said and closed his eyes again to sleep and pulled me to a hug again.

I didn't know he was this clingy?

"Is it fun? Is it fun to make me look like someone who had an amnesia? Is it fun to make me look like I lost my sane in front of the guys when I mention your name and tell them who you are? Is it fun--", I was cut off when he pulled my head closer to his chest and caressed my hair.

"I said I am sorry. I just want you to remember me by your own.", he said. I can hear his fast heartbeat.

Silence filled the room.

It wasn't awkward, but it feels comfortable. I realized I was hugging him back.

I don't have any idea that all this time, I was interacting with my first love from few years ago, and I don't even have the idea that it was him all along.

Park freaking Evan.

"I missed you.", he whispered all of a sudden.

"I know,", I murmured and was enough for him to hear. "and I missed you, too.", I added.

"What would you do now? The guys don't remember you.", I asked and added, "Even David.", I said.

"It's part of the punishment. Once I've done a playback, I'm completely erased from everyone's memory. Specifically everyone who I've been with for so long. And there's no exception.", he explained.

"Then why I didn't forget about you?", I asked, which made him chuckle.

"Okay then, there's one exception.", he said. "I think it's a punishment on your part since you are the reason for the playback.", he added.

"Punishment? It doesn't feel like it. It feels so-so.", I tried to make fun of him.

He pushed me slightly and looked at me.

"Did you just said earlier that you missed me, too?", he asked.

I shrugged and said, "I did? I don't even remember.", which made him looked stunned.

"You're cruel.", he said and pouted.

Look at this cutie.

I laughed a bit and ran my fingers through his hair.

"I'm just kidding.", I said because he looked disappointed.

He just pouted again and rolled his eyes at me.

"I should've been back after a year.", he said and sat up before crossing his arms.

I sat up and faced him and furrowed my eyebrows.

"Then you should,", I stood up and was a bit furry and added, "since you like to make me wait for too long.", I rolled my eyes.

It's not the time to joke around. I feel a bit mad all of a sudden.

"Hey, I'm just kidding.", he stood up and followed me.

"It's not a good joke, Evan. You don't know how it was hard for me.", I said and slipped into a sweater.

Then I felt pair of arms wrapped around my waist.

"I'm sorry.", he whispered and kissed the top of my head.

"Anyways,", he said and added, "is it your time of the month?", he asked.

"What do you mean?", I asked back.

"You have a red dot on your pyjama pants.", he whispered.

That automatically made my face burn so I immediately ran to the bathroom.

No wonder I just had a mood swing.

"Coming!", mom yelled a bit and placed the cup of coffee on the table.

Evan was gone after I went out of the bathroom leaving a note he'll be back later.

Right now, I was expecting that it was him so as I was chewing my bread and butter, smile was plastered on my lips with expectation it was him.

But that automatically fell out of my face when I heard mom mentioned a familiar name.

"Era! It's been a while!"
