I knew the minute Ray was awake from her nap. I was so in tune with her, that I could hear the change in her breathing and her footfalls as she beelined for the loo.
I heard her as she left the bedroom, and I could smell her amazing blueberry pie scent from the other end of the house.
As soon as she got to the doorway, I turned and smiled at her. I saw her looking between me and her mother and she c****d an eyebrow at me.
