I helped Raylee to lay back on the bed and watched as she dozed off. My mind was whirling with all that had happened over the last twenty-four plus hours.
Raylee’s transformation, which should have taken around twenty-four hours in total, took less than eight. Then my poor mate had to shift straight away in order to get some powers, which have now caused her more grief.
A part of me wondered if it would have been better for her to have remained human.
“You would deprive me of my mate?” A very grumpy Conri snarled at me. Geez, I hadn't meant it like that.
“No, of course not, but you have to admit, Raylee has been through a lot.”
“Yes that is true, but now we have both parts of our mate, and everything will be fine.”
