“What’s this?” Kate inquired, stepping into our room.
I glanced over my shoulder and smiled at her. I had only set my bag down, containing some clothes—nothing more. Of course, I had my weapons and phone with me as well, but that was about it. Kate had been with Selene, taking Ethan along. Our kids were all close, but she must have noticed the open door as she came downstairs, heading for the dining room.
