The water was rough. The first time Unbe and I reached the surface with the help of the protective suits that we were wearing, huge waves slapped our faces and made us sink again under the water. It was hard trying to stay afloat even though we have floatation devices as Unbe was holding onto me so much that it keeps me sinking every time.
He was also so loud that if it weren't for his young age I would have pushed him away from me as I might drown with him at this rate and we don't want that. So instead of trying to shut him up, I swam with him clinging onto me. "Are we going to die?" he asked me in between gulps of seawater. "I don't want to die here, Axis!"
"So do I! So we need to swim to the shore!"
"B-But the enemies are there!" he said in full panic. "They will kill us---!"
