A loud wailing can be heard of a child, who is crying so badly for milk but her mother on otherside is drinking whiskey. “What is this wah! Waa! Waa?” irritated lady shouted and push a socks in baby’s mouth who choked due to the socks. Tears coming out from six month old infant’s eyes due to suffocation. When the lady is finished with her whiskey she looked at the baby ungratefully and brings out a milk bottle and mix water in it before stuffing it in mouth of now nearly unconscious baby who immediately suck the milk quenching her hunger knowing that the lady is so cruel and she can snatch bottle anytime. A poor lady look at this scene with pained heart for the baby, thinking how a mother can be so cruel, unknown to the fact that she is not her mother but kidnapper. ***** Paris Third person POV A girl entered her class ducking her face in embracement. Today is her birthday but she is not wearing any new casual dress like other children who wear new dress on their birthday. She is still in her uniform as her mom don’t have time or money to buy new dress for her. When she enters her class, she hears murmur behind her which is daily thing for her. So ignoring them she moved toward her seat when a girl sitting behind her murmurs, “you know her mumma slept with my daddy for money.” Tears slipped from her eyes which she quickly removed. She knows her mumma do wrong thing for money and she has promised herself to become big one day, bringing money in her house and making her mumma proud on her. Hoping that one day her mumma will love her. After school, she quickly runs toward her favourite spot, a café next to her house. She really loves Jessica Di who works there and treats her as her little sister. She has seen her mom going for vacation with some guy in morning for a week so she is not worried for her. She entered the shop where Jessica wished her birthday and served her free pastry. Thanking her she made her way on the last bench which is rarely occupied and sit there opening a novel which she is reading now a days to kill her time and get lost from her miseries for some time. On others side a boy of her age entered the café unknown to her with his Grandpa. “Grandpa, thanks for bringing me to Paris with you. This is really so beautiful,” small boy jumped happily. His grandfather chuckled seeing his boy happy. Sometime he felt bad for the boy who lost his mother at young age and his father married again and shifted away from him making him hurt for his grandson. “Theo, buy anything you want,” old man pointed toward the counter with various pastries and cookies making boy smile. He quickly selected some cookies and pastries with Chocó shake. Both sit on empty table of café enjoying the mouth watering cookies when Theo's eyes fall on her crying in one corner of the café. Something pinches in his small heart seeing her in tears. After eating they are about to move out when Theo turned and look at that girl. “Who is she?” he asked the girl on counter who is Jessica. “She is my friend,” Jessica felt bad for that girl. “Why is she sad?” Theo frown. “Today is her birthday and no one has given her a card or gift,” Jessica replied making his mouth open. Theo quickly rushed toward the cards which has been placed in café as side business and brought a biggest card and borrowed a pen from his Grandpa who smile seeing his boy doing good for a small girl. “What’s her name?” Theo asked Jessica. “Fiona.” Theo smiled brightly hearing her name and write down a message for her. He also buys small cake for her birthday with a teddy. He is about to move toward her to give her his gift when guards call him and his Grandpa saying they are late for the flight. He knows that flight is already delayed due to his wish to visit the café. So half heartedly he gives his gift to Jessica and run out with his Grandpa hoping that his new friend will smile. Fiona frown when she sees a card, cake and teddy placed in front of her and look at Jessica. “A boy has come a few minutes ago and left this as your birthday gift.” Fiona’s eyes become bright at name of birthday gift and she quickly open the card reading it. ‘Happy birthday sweet girl, You are so beautiful. You don’t look beautiful with that sad face so just smile. I don’t know why you are sad but always remember to smile. If you will smile than God will also hear to you. I wish that every wish of your life to be fulfilled, with a lot of love and happiness in your life. Your new friend.’ A huge smile plastered on her lips making Jessica smile. Jessica always thinks to adopt Fiona, but her mother is a b***h who never allows this. Fiona cut the cake and Jessica clapped for her and gives her a bite celebrating her day. **** “Sorry for delay Mr. Stone but it took me some time to get marriage documents,” lawyer opened his bag and pulled out papers. “You just have to sign here and you will be officially husband and wife. All the other formalities are already take care of.” From how long Grandpa was planning this? Exchanging a look Theo and I both looked at each other and then at Grandpa who was waiting for us to sign the document. Sighing Theo signed the piece of paper followed by me, the paper which had declared us both as official husband and wife. I was married and that too on turning eighteen. Now I was Fiona Stone! I looked at Theo who was also looking at me with all these thoughts, how our lives were going to change completely. ****** “Now tell me girl, who is father of this baby?” uncle, Theo's father shouted. I immediately looked at Theo waiting for him to claim what was his. “Don’t look at my son like this. Tell me whose blood you are carrying in your stomach” he angrily pulled me up by my hairs and glared at me. I again looked at Theo with tears filled eyes waiting for him to say something to his father but here he was standing silent. “Tell me” he shouted. “It’s Theo’s baby” I whispered. “Don’t lie” he slapped my face hard such that I fall on the hard floor. "Theo, say something," I looked at him expectedly. "It's not my baby. I am not the father." My breath got knocked out hearing him, hearing him denying to be father of my baby.
