“How you doin’?” Bill asked as he and Frank drove along the Interstate, heading for Frank’s parents’ home.
“You know the story of Daniel and the lion’s den?”
Bill nodded.
“Well, I feel like I’m about to be thrown in.”
“Yeah. But that turned out pretty well for Daniel, didn’t it? And what about those three dudes that King Nebucha…Nebucha—somebody tossed in the fire. They survived.”
“Yes, but Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were all obeying God. The way my dad will see this is we’re going against him.”
Bill put his hand on Frank’s knee and gave it an affectionate squeeze. “It’ll be okay. You’ll see. Just let me handle it.”
