“Frankie! Frankie, wake up.” Cindy was standing next to the couch, shaking him. “It’s time for breakfast. Come on. We’re having so much fun!” Frank opened his eyes, trying to decide if he were still dreaming. “You’re having fun?” “Yes. Bill was telling me all about the ring story and Strider and Frodo. Now I really want to read it and…oh, come on. You’ll see.” She left the room. Frank stretched, got up, and went to the bathroom. Then he padded down the hall to the kitchen, barefoot, and still in his pajamas. The sight that greeted him convinced him he had to be dreaming. Bill was at the stove, also barefoot, and in his PJs, but wearing Frank’s mother’s apron. He was fixing scrambled eggs and frying bacon. Phoebe sat at his feet, hoping for a treat.
