After a very enjoyable meal, Frank and Bill showered—separately—and dressed to leave. The family was gathered in the living room to say goodbye. Bill had still not yet dropped the g-bomb regarding their relationship.
“Before we go, we’d like to tell you about our plans,” Bill said.
Here it comes. Frank braced himself.
“Go ahead, Frank, tell them about your plan to go to BC.”
Frank looked at Bill.
“Go on,” Bill encouraged him. “They’ll be okay with it.”
Still not sure what was happening, Frank said, “Well, Mom…Dad…I’m going to transfer to Boston College.”
