Spirit Fighter

New house, new town, and only a week that we have unpacked. This town is well a mixture between suburb and rural, but we live where you wouldn't think a house would be all the trees hides it I suppose. In a strong voice my father said " Rita I'm going into town. Do you want to come?" With a nod of Rita's head we were heading toward town. Parking the car I unbuckled the seat belt and I was out, "Rita I'll be at the store picking up supplies. If you're not back in an hour you know where the house is." Looking around and accidentally slammed into a mail carrier, "I'm so sorry." "It's fine. You must be the one that's new here, small town word gets around. Hi my name is Travis." "Oh, hello. Rita." "Well Rita nice to meet you, better finish or people won't get their mail. If you need anything. just ask." "There is one thing. Is there a shooting arena?" "Yes, go straight down this street, turn right, keep going you'll see this building on the left saying Al's Arena." "Thanks." Rita followed Travis' directions and found the arena easily, Rita walked into it seeing people shooting both arrows and guns. Rita walked up to the desk, "hello little lady. What can I do for ya?" "Can I shoot some arrows?" "Well how old are ya?" "sixteen." "No can do, you either have to be eighteen or have your parents come to sign papers every time you come." "How about a club where both my parents or one of my parents sign once?" "Yeah." "Be back in a few." Before getting to the door Rita ran into a boy named Wade, "watch where you going." "Sorry, in a hurry." "You're new and lost here. The clothes store is over there." Pointing, Rita just ignored him and ran back to the car, found her father and explained to him what the owner said. Rita and her father was at Al's Arena talking to the owner and like the owner said he was alright with just one of the parent's signature. "Rita do you want go back home with me or stay here for a bit?" "Stay here." "Alright, see you back home around dinner time." Looking back at the manager, "can I start now?" "Well papers are signed and paid for so yes, here." Giving Rita some arrows and a bow. Again Rita walked right into Wade "You! Do you even know how to shoot that?" "None of your business." Rita started walking toward the shooting area, "got watch this." Rita reached to the line, drawing out her bow and arrows, Wade behind Rita commenting, when he finally was silent for Rita had made a bullseye. Wade left nothing else said, Rita stayed at the arena till she saw it was almost dinner time. Running to the counter Rita put the unused arrows and bow down and ran out, running to her house. "Sorry I'm late." "It's fine. We just finished getting the table set and food cooked." Rita washed up and took her place at the table, "how was the arena?" "It was fun." "Honestly Rita you shouldn't be wasting your time on something you won't use in life." "Mom it's just a hobby, everyone has one." Nothing else was said, everyone was cleaning when Rita's mom said "tomorrow is your first day of school. Best you get some sleep." "Indeed." "Alright then good night." "Night."
