Kai’s POV:
I watch as Jackson comforts Amber, letting my eyes trail back and forth between the two of them. The pain on her face earlier and now tells me she can feel their mate bond, which doesn’t surprise me. I don’t know if I am ready to share her, but will I ever feel ready? Our daughter will be here before we know it and I wonder how confusing that will be for her as she grows up. Uncle Jackson is also Daddy Jackson? I’m removed from my thoughts as Jackson firmly wraps his arms around her, and she turns to return the hug. I have a nagging pit in my stomach from it and just want it to stop. Without being completely obvious, I walk over, sitting on the other side of her and pull them out of their interaction.
