Kai’s POV:
Literally, f**k my life…this is not how I wanted to tell her I love her. I can see the confusion in her eyes, and she has yet to respond. I don’t expect her to say it back, hell I wouldn’t if I was her. It wouldn’t surprise me if she kicks me in the balls and tells me to get the hell out, but I am hoping for a civil response. The expression on her face softens as she focuses her gaze on me.
“You love me?” she whispers.
You’re my mate, Amber. Yes, I love you. I won’t say that out loud, but I want to.
I sharply inhale and focus my eyes on hers, “Yes, Amber, I love you.”
I almost piss laughing when she says, “Why?”
I can’t hold my laughter in. She is so inquisitive.
