Adam pulled on his flannel shirt, slowly buttoning it closed as he sat in one of the chairs. Terrie was on her knees, looking through the cabinets for anything she could find. As was expected, she found nothing they could eat. A whole house, empty of food. Nothing bagged, nothing canned. The voice remained quiet, not answering them at all despite Terrie having tried to talk to them multiple times. Adam, on the other hand, focused on fully dressing himself, pulling on his boots and lacing them closed. It was tiring. The entire process of getting off the table, putting on his clothes, and thinking about what he should do next.
