Chapter 2

Alexis POV

We were on a bus heading into the Midnight territory, I used the perfume to mask my scent and it helped that I was surround by many others in bus, looking at amount of people it was easy to tell that this was going to be a huge party, we were about twenty minutes out, I decided to text Mike that I will be arriving soon and to cut all communication, better safe than sorry. I let my mind drift back to when Mike, Anna, Jade and I arrived at the Academy around the same time, we were undergoing training and were in the same classes, so eventually we became friends despite belonging to different supernatural groups, Mike’ a hunter, Anna is a witch, Jade is a Vampire and as you know I am a werewolf but we are some of the best agents and there is no one that I trust more than these three, after all they are the only family I have. I am brought back to the current situation as i felt shiver run down my spine; we must have crossed into the terroirty. I look out the window and see beautiful and green land; I cannot believe it is so big.

We arrive at the hugest building I have ever seen, the lady in front says we have arrived at the mansion, in my mind this is not just a mansion but rather the size of a eight story building, looking at it I wonder how will I find Jade in time, maybe we should have tried to get more information before going in, but there was no other way. Getting of the bus I make note of the guards, there were at least ten in the front, going inside we were lead to the kitchen, and it was probably bigger than what restaurants use.

As everyone started getting busy, i slowly snuck away, being very careful, i took note of the cameras and made sure to avoid them. There was an elevator and emergency stairs but it was not that easy getting any further up, they were using key cards and guards were stationed at every door. i made my way back to the kitchen hoping to find a way up, you there came and assist me, said the lady from the bus, I her followed and another lady, from what i gathered she was the head of the kitchen in the mansion and her name was Melanie, and to my luck, we were heading up, to get some table cloths and plates. Melanie pressed the button for the elevator, once inside she scanned her key card and selected the third floor, once there she directed us to where we would the table cloths and plates, on the way back down the elevator shook so i used that as a way to bump into Melanie and grab the key card, sorry i said.

she smiled and said it is okay dear, even i lose my balance sometimes when this old thing starts to move, as we exited i noticed that guards where entering and exiting from a lower staircase, i think it must be some sort of control room, we made our way to a huge room, where the tables where set up, as we started decorating the tables, i slowly slipped away, and made my way down, at the end of the staircase was a door, i tried the handle and slowly pushed the door open, through the slight gap i could hear voices, one of the men said, we will keep rotating and monitoring our guests, just in case someone tries something, I’ll be surprised if nothing does happen, i mean we are literally putting a lot of alphas in the same room, and we know that Daniel does not play nice with others, said the other. the mention of his name sends a shiver down my spine, i really should not be feeling like this, i heard someone approach the door so i quickly ducked around the wall, the two men leave, i go back to the door and slowly open it again, i enter making sure no else is inside, the room is huge screens covering the walls, all with camera footage, it looks like the entire territory is covered and monitored, clearly they are very advanced, i get to work quickly, i take control of their system and connect my phone to it, so now what they see i see, and i can now search for Jade using the cameras, i hear someone approach the door, i quickly disconnect my phone and put the system back to normal and hide behind one of the desks. As a guy walks in and grabs something.

It feels like hours before the guy leaves, as soon as he is out the door i survey the room one more time and make sure that the coast is clear before leaving the room, i head back to where the rest of the catering staff are located and i continue to monitor the cameras, i also review the pervious recordings for the past two days but find nothing i continue to assist the other staff, in order to make sure that my cover does not get blown.

 As i go through the cameras i locate an area that looks like a prison i view all cameras in that area but Jade is not in any one of them. I wonder what they could have done with her or where they could be holding her as she is not in the prison. i make my way to the elevator, using the key card i planned to search each floor, because this is my only option left, the only other reason that i cannot locate Jade is because maybe not all the areas are covered by the cameras, and i cannot bring myself to think of the other reasons that maybe she is already dead.

I scan through each floor, so far each of them are monitored by a camera and at least these floors have no guards, i guess they don’t expect anyone to make it pass the ground floor, i decided to use the stairs for the rest of the way, i was less likely to run into someone that way, on the fifth floor i heard voices, so i stayed at the door, it was two girls talking, one of them said do you think this party is going to work, i mean we literally have all the parks on our territory this has never happened like ever, the other responded well this could be really good or really bad, but i hope for the former we need to all come together in order to beat the Academy.

Eventually i hear the elevator ding and the voices disappear, so this party is to try to take down the Academy, i would love to see them try i think to myself, maybe once i find Jade we can uncover more of their plan, this floor is clear on to the next.

finally the last floor let’s hope that this one has something, i try the handle a the door but its locked, i make my way back down to the seventh floor, and try the elevator but when i use the key card it says access denied. frustrated i make way back down, there has to be something there i reviewed the cameras, wait i haven’t even released it but there are no cameras covering that floor, the caters are unloading items from the vans i go to assist, as i need to blend in as much as possible, at least this way i get to scan the back of the house, well this side is less guarded but there is no way up or is there, a smile crosses my face as i look at the windows i may just have a plan after all.
