“What…?”
Her fingers trembled as she scrolled.
There is a medical report to prove that she is truly mental unstable, a signed documents of her inheritance to her uncle and Hink’s testimony that she is truly insane.
Her breathing became irregular.
“I never signed this…”
She looks around hoping for someone to believe her, but the disdain look on the faces of everyone makes her face turn pale. She shakes her head severally denying everything that is on the news.
There were whispers of one thing or the other about her, the people point fingers at her, some even start to record her. She thought she will be honored that night but instead, she is receiving something worse than disgrace.
Deep down, she already knew that it must be the very document her uncle had sent her recently saying it require her signature which she did not go through before signing.
She suddenly realized she had been trapped and quickly wants to dial her uncle’s number but Hink immediately snatched her phone away.
“Don’t even think about contacting them.”
His voice dropped, warning her.
“Or your little video becomes public.”
Mira went still.
Everything seems to make sense to her now, her uncle, her cousin Anna, Hink have all been working together to plan everything.
Tears burned her eyes.
“I loved you…”
Her voice trembled but didn’t break.
“I gave up everything for you. My pack, my home, my power, to build your family from nothing.”
Her gaze lifted, filled with darkness.
“And you betray me.”
Hink didn’t deny it.
“I did.”
He pushed the papers toward her again.
“If you really loved me…”
He pauses and smirked.
“Sign it.”
The silence between them stretched.
She looks around, but everyone’s gaze was upon her waiting for her to sign the divorce paper already, they wanted her gone from their pack.
Mira swallows the lumps that had form in her throat with difficulty and picked up the pen with shaky hand, but her gaze didn’t leave Hink’s.
“One last question.”
Her voice was quiet.
“Did you ever love me?”
Hink didn’t hesitate.
“Never.”
He spat.
Something inside her went still, her wolf fell silent. But then, a bitter grin form at the corner of her lips, she lowered her gaze and slowly signed the papers.
“I was wrong about you.”
She feels so bittered.
“One more thing,” he moved closer to her ear and whispers.
“I and Anna have been together for two years. Your wretched self is so pathetic”
Hink laughed mockingly.
Her body trembles, he did not only betray her but also deceived and have been cheating on her with her cousin.
“Know your place, trash like you belongs in the gutter.”
Mira felt like slapping him across the face but her whole body feel numb as reality hit her.
He sneered, relieved that she finally signs the papers.
Mira looks dangerously at him, her eyes burned.
“You’ll regret this.”
Her voice trembling and void of emotions.
“I promise you that.”
Hink waved his hand lazily.
“Throw her out.”
The guard drag her out of the Diamond mansion disgracefully and the gates slammed shut behind her.
Mira hit the cold ground outside the mansion; she realized her world just collapsed.
Her marriage, her title, her pack, everything has gone.
***
Two years ago, Gray Mirabel had everything a girl could ever dream of.
She was the only daughter of Richard Gray, the powerful owner of the Graymont Business Empire in England, and a direct descendant of an ancient Alpha bloodline.
To the human world, the Gray family stood at the peak of wealth and influence but in the hidden world of wolves their name carried far greater power, authority and fear.
Mira had grown up as a true Alpha’s daughter, she was protected, respected and honored because of her wolf power. Her father ruled not only the corporate world but also commanded the loyalty of his pack, the Hilltop pack and packs across the country.
She was born with a silver spoon in her mouth but everything changed on her eighteenth birthday. That night, her parents had a terrible car crash.
The sudden accident changed Mira’s world.
The grief was not something she could withstand, she doesn’t just lose her parents but her power, the trauma broke her wolf.
The Alpha instincts she was born with, her heightened senses, her strength, her commanding presence vanished overnight.
What remained was silence.
Her once fierce wolf now curled weakly inside her chest, whimpering in lost and fear. For the first time in her life, she felt powerless, vulnerable and alone.
Before her father’s death, he left a will.
According the will, his younger brother, Raymond Gray, would temporarily take control of the Graymont Empire, the pack and the influence of the Gray’s bloodline until Mira turned twenty.
Not long after the funeral, Raymond moved into the Gray’s mansion with his wife, Victoria, and their daughter, Anna.
From the outside, they appeared supportive but inside they were nothing but cruel to Mira, Victoria’s smiles were always full of mockery.
“Good morning, Miss Gray,” she would say to Mira scornfully across the dining table.
Anna was worse.
“Don’t forget,” she would always say.
“Even though you lost your power. You’re the future Alpha heiress.” Mocking her for losing her wolf power.
Every word sounded like praise but it wasn’t, it was mockery, a reminder of everything Mira had lost, her parents, her power, her place and the mansion that once felt like home became a cage, suffocating her.
Her wolf shrank further each day, retreating deeper into silence as the tension in the house grew.
Mira endured it all in silence.
She believed she only needed two years, she needs to endure their tormenting for just two years. Once she turned twenty everything would return to her, the empire, the pack and her power.
But as the days passed… her wolf never awakened, it remained trapped in grief and unresponsive. And that weakness became something everyone noticed, something they whispered about and use against her.
At that moment Hink Hack appeared in her life, he newly rise as the Alpha of the Diamond Pack.
His family was nothing remarkable, a small, struggling pack trying to gain recognition. Yet Hink carried himself with confidence, ambition and something Mira had not felt in a long time.
Warmth.
He spoke to her in a different way, without mockery and without judgment. He listened to her and for the first time since her parents’ death Mira felt seen.
She mistook it for love, her broken heart felt healed.
She becomes desperate to escape from the Gray’s mansion, from the suffocating pressure, from her own weakness and let herself fall in love.
And when she did, she fell completely.
Driven by that longing, she made a reckless decision and proposed marriage to Hink. He looked surprised at first but he accepted.
They registered their marriage in secret.
“We should keep it private for now,” he had said, holding her hands gently.
“When you become the true heiress after two years we’ll hold the grandest wedding.”
Mira believed every word.
She left the Gray’s mansion without hesitation, left her inheritance, her pack and moved in with Hink at the Diamond mansion.
She left everything in her uncle’s care trusting she will get them back after she clocks twenty.
Life in the Hack household was modest, simple, nothing like what she had known but she never complained.
Because she believed she had chosen love, she gave her everything in building Hink, his pack and his small company. She used her time, her resources and her connections.
Behind the scenes, she was helping Hink opening doors, securing deals, elevating his family from nothing into one of England’s fastest-rising power.
Even among wolves, the Diamond Pack began to gain recognition, all because of her. But still, her wolf remained silent, she did not regain her power as if she had never wolfed out before.
On their one-year anniversary, Hink said they should go to Wales because he wanted to treat her like a princess for everything Mira had done for him.
Mira was happy but little did she knows it was all a trap.
That night, after Hink had taken her out and they later went to the bar inside the hotel where they logged, he got her drunk and sent her into another man’s room, handing her the wrong key card because she has become drunk and could barely open her eyes.
When she woke up, she realizes she had slept with another man and not Hink, her mind spun, her wolf howled in panic.
