Chapter 1
Tonight was supposed to be Mirabel Gray’s coronation.
After two long years of silence, two years of waiting, enduring and believing that this was the night she would finally step out of the shadows.
The night she would be acknowledged as the Luna of the Diamond Pack.
Hink’s Luna.
The guest was already seated, waiting for the ceremony to begin.
Mira stood in the sitting room, her fingers lightly clasped together, her heart beating faster than she wanted, waiting for Hink, her husband’s return.
She had imagined this moment countless times, when she will be standing beside Hink, when she will no longer be hidden and ignored.
Two years ago, their mating had been done in secrecy.
“It is for the stability of the pack,” Hink had told her gently, his soft voice, reassuring her.
“Just wait a little longer… when the time is right, I’ll present you to the world.”
And she had believed him; she had left everything behind to be with him, her home, her pack, her position, she had poured everything into making him big.
She helped his pack rise, supported his ambitions, strengthened his influence across England using her identity as the heiress of the Graymont Empire and the Alpha’s daughter of the powerful Hilltop Pack.
She had given him everything.
And tonight… she thought she would finally receive something in return.
It was meant to be a small ceremony with the members of the Diamond pack, when she heard Hink had returned, she hastens to the garden where the guests have been waiting with a smile plastered on her face.
But the moment she met with Hink, something felt wrong.
Mira’s smiles slowly fade as Hink walk towards her.
His aura hit the place like a cold wind, not warm, not familiar like before, but cold, sharp and merciless.
As she stood at the middle, wondering why he’s that way, all attention from the guest was already on them. He didn’t take a moment to look at her, greet her, or take cognizes of her.
In his hand was a thin envelope.
Without a word, he walked past her and dropped the envelope on the table in front of her, the papers slid across the polished surface stopping right in front of her.
“Sign it.”
His voice was emotionless.
Mira blinked.
“Hink…?”
Something in her chest tightened.
Slowly… her gaze dropped to the papers and her world stopped. Divorce Agreement? Her fingers went numb.
She glances through the guest watching them, their gazes were fixed on her.
“These are divorce papers,” Hink said casually, as if he were discussing something insignificant.
“Divorce papers?” She hears the guest murmuring.
She clutches her dress tightly, almost tearing it.
“You can stop daydreaming about becoming my Luna.”
A faint, mocking smile tugged at Hink’s lips.
“You’re leaving the Diamond Pack tonight.”
The words didn’t just hurt her, they tore her; all eyes were on her. She hopes that the ground will open beneath her feet to swallow her up.
She tightens her hold on her dress and stared at him, her mind struggling to catch up.
“What… are you saying?”
Deep inside her, her wolf whimpered.
Hink didn’t answer immediately, instead, he unlocked his phone and slid it across the table toward her.
“You seem to have forgotten something,” he said coldly.
“Watch.”
Mira hesitated but slowly leaned forward, the screen lit up and, in that instant, her world shattered. It was her in the video, naked in a hotel room entangled with another man.
Her breath hitched violently.
She looks around, all eyes curious to know what is playing on the video. Her throat tightens; she swallows hard.
“No…”
Her voice came out as a whisper.
The man’s face in the video was blurred but there was no mistake she is the one in the video, her eyes in the video were unfocused, dazed and it was obvious something was wrong, she was drugged.
She couldn’t continue watching and immediately stop the video.
Her wolf howled suddenly in a violent distress.
“What… is this…?” she whispered, her hands trembling.
Hink leaned back, watching her reaction with clear excitement, he could not wait to humiliate her before everyone present.
“That’s what you did,” he said.
“You cheated on your Alpha.”
The surprise gasps that followed from everyone makes her legs trembles, almost falling, but she steadies herself.
“That’s impossible!”
She manages to say, feeling embarrassed.
Her heart slamming against her ribs.
“You sent me to that room that night!”
Her voice rose, shaking.
“You said it was a mistake!”
But no one believed her, the whispers going on around her makes her overwhelm with shame.
Her eyes widened as realization began to creep in.
She knew she had to defend herself.
“Hink… why do you have this video?”
Her breath quickened.
“Who set this up?”
Hink smiled and then he laughed, the sound of his laughter was low but cruel.
“No one set it up.”
He tilted his head slightly, his eyes darken.
“I did.”
The silence that follows was heavy and crushing.
Mira felt something inside her collapse.
“You… planned it? …. From the beginning?”
The guest glanced at themselves, confused.
“Do you really think I ever wanted you?”
His gaze turned cold.
“You were just in her way.”
Each word landed like a slap to her face.
“In the way of who…?” Mira whispered.
Hink’s lips curved into a soft smile.
“Anna.”
The name hit Mira like a thunder.
“Anna Gray. The real heiress of the Graymont Empire.”
Mira froze.
“…Anna? My cousin?”
Hink’s expression turned disdain.
“Who else?”
He stepped closer to her, his presence suffocating.
“Did you really think you could compare to her? Her beauty. Her power. Her status. Her influence.”
His voice dropped.
The guest watches on as the drama continues to unfold, whispering.
“You wouldn’t reach her level in a hundred lifetimes.”
Mira shook her head.
“No… That’s not true.”
She couldn’t believe her ears.
“The Gray family is mine. I am the heiress! And the future Alpha of Hilltop!”
For a second there was silence but then Hink burst into laughter, loud, mockery laughter.
“You’ve completely lost it.”
His eyes hardened.
“That was two years ago.”
He leaned in, his voice colder.
“Now… you’re nothing.”
“A toothless Alpha who lost her power. A coward who abandoned her pack. A stray wolf with nowhere to belong.”
At that exact moment Mira’s phone buzzed and the phones of everyone present too.
She looks around confused, her hand moved impulsively. She opened her phone and her blood ran cold.
“Graymont Heiress, Mirabel Gray forfeits her Inheritance due to mental instability.”
Her vision instantly blurred.
