Chapter 1: The Meeting

Ethan kept his head down and said as if he didn't hear what Aeturnus said, "I want you to come to the meeting this week and ensure that nothing goes wrong during the meeting, and you have to ensure my brother's safety".

Aeturnus smirked and said, "Is that all?".

"All right, sir", replied the personal assistant, who immediately turned to carry out his duties.

Soon General Christian came in his military uniform, which looked very threatening. Ethan stood up from his seat and greeted General Christian, "Good evening, General. Please have a seat".

General Christian returned Ethan's greeting by shaking his hand and then sat down on the sofa. General Christian seemed to be frowning in displeasure but still politely said, "I'm very sorry for coming here without making an appointment but I've been waiting for you to come to see me since yesterday but I haven't seen your nose come to my place or just contact me".

Ethan heard those polite but also cynical remarks. Ethan sat in front of General Christian and smiled politely, then answered General Christian's sarcastic remark as if he was guilty, "I'm sorry if I made you wait, but for the upcoming meeting I really need to prepare a lot for the safety of us together and all those present, so I haven't had time to contact you. I was planning to meet you this afternoon but it's unfortunate that I heard that you are still out of town, so I canceled my plans. But I didn't expect that you would come here, General".

General Christian smiled sarcastically and said, "You are indeed extraordinary for arranging everything yourself. I don't think my presence is needed to prepare for tomorrow's meeting".

"I just don't want to bother you with a business like this, you are quite busy taking care of things like that. Your presence is very much needed for tomorrow's meeting because, after all, you are the one chosen by the prime minister to come to tomorrow's meeting and negotiate with vampires and werewolves. I'm just helping to prepare everything," replied Ethan, with a smile still visible on his lips even though his eyes weren't smiling.

Ethan knows very well that the people in the government who know that he is a werewolf really don't like him and even hate him, but what should Ethan do anymore, because he really has to stay with the government for the good of his and his brother, so that no matter how much these people hate him, he will survive.

General Christian looked at Ethan and said sarcastically, "So all the preparations have been made? Do the werewolves also know what you are preparing?".

Ethan smiled and said, "I work here not for the werewolves but for humans, so even if I am a werewolf, I will remain loyal to my job. I know what I can tell my flock and what I can't".

General Christian laughed sarcastically and said, "Well, if you weren't loyal you wouldn't have been here all this time. What will we need tomorrow? Are you sure that werewolves and vampires won't attack us tomorrow?".

"I'm sure the Chief of the special investigation unit has made sure everything will be safe. You don't need to worry, I guarantee your safety", said Ethan reassuringly.

General Christian is about to say something when Ethan's personal assistant knocks on the door with a drink in hand, "Excuse me, tea please".

General Christian looks at Ethan's personal assistant who puts the tea in front of him and says "Is this guy also a werewolf? I just saw him here earlier. Is he your new assistant?".

Ethan was about to answer but his assistant had answered first "I am a human, General. I am Sir Ethan's personal assistant. My name is Abigail Abelardo".

"Oh, is he your brother too?" General Christian said, glancing at Ethan and Abigail in turn.

Ethan smiled and said to Abigail, "Abigail, come out first and get me a year's worth of financial reports from the base at the border that I haven't had time to review."

Abigail nodded and said goodbye, "Please enjoy your drink, I'll excuse myself first".

Ethan drank his tea and said, "Abigail is my adopted son, the age gap is not appropriate to be my son but legally he is my son. He is very smart and talented, so some time ago when there was a recruitment to be my assistant, he applied and passed".

General Christian just nodded and drank his tea. He understood what Ethan meant. That Ethan didn't use his position to get Abigail into the government. Not to mention Ethan's words about the financial statements from the headquarters at the border, it is clear that Ethan will check the financial statements to threaten him because he is the general who leads the military at the border.

General Christian doesn't want to get into trouble with Ethan, so he just talks about tomorrow's meeting and then leaves immediately. Ethan also doesn't want to disturb General Christian as long as he is not disturbed, first so when General Christian starts to seriously discuss tomorrow's meeting, he takes it seriously too. After a while, General Christian finally leaves, leaving Ethan back alone in his room staring at the document in front of him.

The clock on the wall was ticking and it was already 10 pm, but Ethan was still busy with his documents and computer. Several times he yawned and drank the coffee that had been provided by Abigail before Abigail came home. Ethan is a pretty good boss and cares about his subordinates, so as long as the work of his subordinates is done, then even if he is still working himself, he will not ask his subordinates to work with him until late at night and instead send them home first. And now there was only him in his room and the two bodyguards waiting for him outside his room.

Blood appeared slowly in front of Ethan's desk and the figure of a man in black pajamas slowly appeared. Ethan immediately turned and looked at the man.

"How are you?", Aeturnus said, greeting Ethan, who looked at him.

Ethan sighed and asked, "What were you doing here last night?".

Aeturnus sat on the sofa and said: "I came to your house and waited for you to come home but you didn't come home, so I came here to check and, sure enough, you are still busy in front of those papers".

Ethan glanced at Aeturnus for a moment, then refocused himself on the document in front of him. Aeturnus saw it and said, "How are you? Has there been any change since you took the pills I gave you?".

Ethan shook his head without thinking and instead discussed something else, "For tomorrow, do you know the location of the meeting and who is coming?".

"Hm, already. I've prepared everything, you just take it easy because tomorrow everything will be as you want", said Aeturnus confidently.

Ethan looked at Aeturnus and nodded without saying anything. Aeturnus smiled a little and said, "I hope tomorrow will go well and after that, I will take you for an examination".

Ethan sighed, "Hm".

Ethan looked very tired and yawned several times, which made Aeturnus chuckle when he saw it, especially when Ethan, who had just yawned, was about to drink coffee, but unfortunately, the coffee had run out and made Ethan unconsciously look annoyed.

Aeturnus stood up from his seat and said, "I will take you home, rest".

Ethan, who was very tired, finally closed the document in front of him and nodded, accepting Aeturnus' invitation. Ethan grabbed his things and called his bodyguard who was on guard outside his room to tell them to go home. After tidying things up, Ethan slowly walked over to Aeturnus and said, "Let's go home".

Aeturnus smiled slightly seeing Ethan's behavior and immediately put his arm around Ethan's shoulder, "Close your eyes".

Ethan closed his eyes and a cold chill hit his body as if he was covered in snow that had just fallen. Within seconds, the coldness disappeared.

Aeturnus, who was hugging Ethan, whispered in Ethan's ear "We have arrived. You can open your eyes".

Ethan slowly opened his eyes and saw that he was in his room. Ethan sighed and removed Aeturnus' hand from his waist, then said quietly, "Thanks for the ride".

Ethan's words like that made Aeturnus chuckle and say, "Is my power some kind of vehicle, heh".

The smile on Ethan's face was so gentle that Aeturnus stopped laughing and raised his hand to caress Ethan's face, but before the hand arrived, Aeturnus immediately realized and pulled his hand again. He said, "Get some rest, see you tomorrow".

Ethan nodded and looked at Aeturnus, who disappeared into the darkness of his room. Ethan put down his bag and sat on the side of his bed, muttering, "Hopefully tomorrow everything will go smoothly".

Ethan and General Christian are getting ready to head to the rendezvous location. The bodyguards were already on the scene and several other bodyguards were already waiting for Ethan and General Christian in the car. Ethan motioned for General Christian to walk first to the car, "Please, General. Everything is ready and we just have to go".

General Christian nods and walks ahead of Ethan to the car. The two of them got into the same car, followed by two other cars containing bodyguards.

Ethan felt a little worried but he tried to remain calm and not show his concern. Ethan deliberately didn't tell Eden that he would also come to this meeting, even though he wasn't sure that Eden would not know until they met at the meeting place. Arriving at the meeting location, the guards went straight to their respective positions while Ethan and General Christian entered the room for the meeting. Neither werewolves nor vampires were present, which made Ethan breathe a little relieved. Ethan saw Eden's men who were on guard and looked around him until he accidentally saw another room that was connected to the door from the room he was in. The door was slightly ajar and, for some reason, he seemed to be called to go there because it felt like something was in there.

Ethan stood up from his seat and said, "General Christian, I'll check around here for a bit."

General Christian just nodded indifferently. Ethan turned to go to the room connected to the door and entered slowly. He was very surprised as soon as he opened the door because someone was already standing in the middle of the empty room and staring out the window with the curtains twisting in the wind.

The person turned to Ethan and smiled. Ethan immediately quickly entered and closed the door to the room and made sure no one saw the two of them. After making sure that everything was safe, he said quietly, "Since when have you been here?".

Aeturnus answered curtly, "Just now".

"Hm, what do you see?", asked Ethan, who saw Aeturnus, who looked back out the window.

"The werewolves have arrived, come back. It would be better if no one knew if we knew each other and met before the meeting. I will be on guard here", said Aeturnus, who turned to Ethan.

Ethan nodded and turned to leave, leaving Aeturnus still standing in the same place. Just as he came out, General Christian was already standing at the door as if he was about to enter the room. Ethan was shocked but he still looked calm and asked "What's the matter, General?".

General Christian is about to look into the room but Ethan's body covers him, which irritates him a little and says "No, it's nothing".

General Christian turns back into his chair and asks, "Is everything safe?".

Ethan sits next to General Christian and replies, "Hmm, everything's safe. It's just an empty room in there."

Before long, the guard guarding the door opened the door and announced the presence of two werewolf representatives. Ethan immediately stood up to welcome them, but even though he felt a little suspicious about the condition of the werewolves, he had to keep his behavior so that it wasn't suspicious.

"Welcome", said Ethan politely to the two werewolf representatives who he didn't even know himself.

"Sir Ethan, you have arrived. Where is the chief of the special investigation unit?" said one of the werewolf representatives, walking to his seat.

Ethan smiled and replied, "Sir Eden is still on his way, after all, the meeting schedule is still an hour away."

"Yes, we thought we came too early and would be the first here, but I thought wrongly, it turns out that you are here first," said the werewolf representative who walked to sit on the other side.

Ethan sat back down and answered several questions from the werewolf representatives, while General Christian was silent and watched their conversation. Ethan watched their every move and several times he glanced at the room next door.

On the other hand, the entourage of the special investigation unit and the vampires have come to approach the villa. Aaron looked ahead and saw the gate of the villa, which was heavily guarded by Eden's men as well as by werewolves. Aaron sighed and realized that his father was already inside the villa.

Mark opened the car window and ordered the guard to open the villa gate. The guards recognized Mark and Eden so they immediately opened the gate. Eden looked back at Kenzo and Aaron's car then said to the guard, "The car behind us is a vampire envoy's car".

The guard understood Eden's meaning and nodded his head. Mark parked the car in the large courtyard of the villa. Eden got out of the car and waited for Aaron to get out of the car too. Eden turned to Aaron, who had just gotten out of the car, and said quietly but heard by everyone because of the earphones, "Be careful".

Aaron turned to Eden and nodded his head, then smiled a little. Mark walked first to lead everyone to the room for the meeting. The ready guard there just kept quiet and nodded at Mark and Eden. Mark knocked on the door of a room, then someone from inside opened the door.

In a room that is quite spacious, the room is arranged like a meeting room with a long table and chairs around it. Eden was politely greeted and then sat in his chair. Mark stood behind Eden like the other guards. Aaron introduced himself, "Good afternoon, I'm Aaron Ezekiel. I'm the representative of vampires. Nice to meet you all".

The werewolf envoy looked cynically at Aaron without replying to Aaron's greeting. Likewise, General Christian only stared at Aaron for a moment before ignoring him. Ethan, who saw that, immediately told Aaron to sit down, "Please have a seat, Mr. Ezekiel".

Eden sat next to Ethan and Aaron sat beside Eden. Kenzo chose to stand behind Aaron like Mark. Eden nudged Ethan's leg with his foot and made Ethan glance at Eden. Eden typed something on his cellphone, his hand hiding the cellphone under the table so that only those sitting next to him and those standing behind him saw it, but not the werewolf envoys sitting across from him. Eden typed, "Do you know these two werewolf envoys who came?".

Ethan saw Eden under the table and Eden typing on his cell phone, then took Eden's cellphone and typed under the table, "No, they seem to be werewolf fighters who are always with Mr. Oswald".

"How do you not know them? Don't you often meet Mr. Oswald and the werewolves?", Eden typed on his cellphone.

"I met Mr. Oswald personally as the son of a close friend, not as a deputy secretary of defense," typed Ethan quickly.

General Christian saw Eden and Ethan, who were talking to each other by typing on their cellphones, and said, "How long do I have to wait? Haven't all the envoys arrived?".

Eden heard a voice from his earphones, "Boss, Mr. Oswald had come, he had just entered the gate of the villa".

Eden said to General Christian, "We just need to wait for the werewolf leader who is already on his way. Please wait a moment".

Shortly after the door opened, Mr. Oswald came into the room. Two werewolf envoys stood up and greeted Mr. Oswald. Eden stood up and greeted, "Mr. Oswald, how are you? Ethan at General Christian, then at Mr. Oswald. Eden touched Aaron's hand slowly and when Aaron's hand reacted to his touch, Eden held Aaron's hand for a moment before releasing it again.

Mr. Oswald smiled at Aaron with a strange look and said, "If I managed to catch up to you, maybe today His Highness wouldn't be able to hold the hand of the person next to you and instead be in the room I prepared for you, His Highness".

Mr. Oswald's words were like a thunderbolt in the daytime that took everyone by surprise. Eden looked directly at Mr. Oswald sharply and was about to get up from his seat, but Ethan grabbed Eden's thigh and kept him sitting. Ethan finally opened his mouth and spoke, "Mr. Oswald, today we are all gathered here to discuss the peace between vampires and werewolves which will certainly have an impact on humans, so please put aside personal matters first and focus on the purpose of our meeting here".

Mr. Oswald nodded but the smile on his face didn't go away. Mr. Oswald said, "Sure, it's my fault to talk about personal matters. Let's talk about vampire and werewolf peace".

Eden was very upset and didn't know what had happened to Mr. Oswald and Aaron before. From Mr. Oswald's words, it seemed that Aaron and Mr. Oswald had met before and there might have been some kind of relationship previously. Eden saw Mr. Oswald's gaze at Aaron and it was clear that he didn't like that look.

Some pure vampires who did this have been captured and brought back by the vampire envoy to be punished. But not only humans, but there is a case where the victim is a werewolf.
