Chapter 7: Parting

Aeturnus shook his head and said, "Someone made me go up and called you guys for dinner, hurry up and down".

Aaron and Eden were confused and didn't understand what Aeturnus meant but they both didn't want to ask further so they just followed Aeturnus down.

Dinner was over, everyone was still sitting in their seats. Aeturnus suddenly said, "Demian has been captured and is now in prison in the main castle. And everyone who followed Demian has also been caught. Kenzo and Angis will go straight to the main castle to take care of them all. Later, I will go to the main castle and after everything is done, I have to go back to sleep. I hope Aaron can take my place for a while, this time Angis will be with you too".

Aaron nodded in approval and said, "Should I return to the main castle too?".

Aeturnus looked at Eden for a moment then said, "Yes, so that the commotion doesn't happen again, you have to be where you should be".

Aaron understood this and would follow Aeturnus' words. Aeturnus saw Aaron's face and said, "I will teach you to strengthen your Shadow blood so that you can teleport long distances but you have to drink human blood. You are too weak to almost go into a deep sleep".

Aaron agreed and said, "Okay, dad".

Ethan who heard Aeturnus' words was very surprised because Aeturnus didn't say that after this was over he would return to the main castle for a deep sleep and this time he was really serious, unlike yesterday. Even so, Ethan remained silent as if he was not affected by Aeturnus' words and didn't care about it because it was none of his business.

After he finished speaking, Ethan saw that Aeturnus still had something to discuss with Aaron and Eden. Ethan stood up from his seat and said, "I'm sorry to go back to my room, I have something to do".

Ethan immediately turned and went to his room. Arriving in the room, Ethan opened the window and sighed tiredly. Ethan remembered what Aeturnus had said earlier and he felt that maybe he had fallen too deep that the moment he found out that Aeturnus would disappear from his life, he felt that it was very heavy. He was very worried that for the rest of his life he would never be able to see Aeturnus again. Maybe to Aeturnus, he was just a passing wind caressing his face for a moment. But for him, Aeturnus is an existence that comes without him being invited and unconsciously imprints so deep on him that it makes it difficult to live without Aeturnus' presence in his life.

"Ethan, I'm going in", Aeturnus' voice softly sounded and the bedroom door slowly opened.

Ethan didn't look back and continued to stare out the window. Aeturnus approached him and said softly, "Um, after this is done I will return to the main castle and I will deep sleep. I can't promise whether I will see you again or not because I myself don't know how long I will deep sleep".

Ethan's silence made Aeturnus feel that Ethan was really mad at him or maybe he regretted sleeping with him. Aeturnus sighed and gently touched Ethan's shoulder from behind and said "I'm sorry".

Aeturnus couldn't say anything else, he was afraid he would hurt Ethan more if he kept talking and maybe Ethan didn't want to see him anymore. Aeturnus still had work to do before he returned before his body could no longer wake up. Aeturnus turned to leave Ethan's room and said quietly, "Goodbye".

Aeturnus lowered his head after glancing at Ethan and was about to leave but when he was about to open the door to Ethan's room to get out, Ethan spoke very quietly and sounded like he was holding back his emotions, "Does all this mean nothing to you?".

Aeturnus turned his head and wondered at Ethan's very low voice. Ethan turned his head and looked at Aeturnus with a sad and disappointed face. Aeturnus was so shocked to see Ethan's face, that his hand that was about to open the door fell immediately and Aeturnus ran to hug Ethan.

"Sorry... I don't understand romance, I... our relationship is not clear... you and I know what kind of relationship we can have and how this relationship ends. I can't lose someone anymore after I decide to have one. Therefore, before I had the thought of having you completely for me, I wanted to leave you. I didn't want to hurt myself but I forgot that I actually hurt you. I'm sorry", said Aeturnus who hugged Ethan tightly.

Ethan held back his tears and said quietly, "Why, why did I become this weak after meeting you? I hate you, everything you do is only for yourself".

"Yes, I know," replied Aeturnus who nodded his head.

"Haah", Ethan took a deep breath as if he was trying to control his feelings and emotions.

"Drink first so you feel calmer", said Aeturnus who gave a glass of water to Ethan who was sitting on the side of the bed.

Ethan took it and drank it then said quietly, "So?".

Aeturnus looked at Ethan and replied gently, "Ehm, my current body condition requires me to deep sleep. I need to sleep at least between 5 to 10 years so I will be better. Honestly, I didn't expect that you would wait for me but if you are willing to wait for me, at least give me 5 years. If in 5 years I also haven't woken up then...".

"So?", said Ethan who looked at Aeturnus.

Aeturnus sighed and said, "I'll be back in 5 years. If I don't wake up by then Aaron will wake me up so you don't worry because I will definitely come to see you".

Ethan nodded and asked quietly "Hm, fine. I'll be waiting for you. When you come back, come back well".

Aeturnus smiled and nodded in approval of Ethan's words, "Yes, definitely".

"Come here", said Ethan who opened his arms telling Aeturnus to hug him.

Aeturnus took the glass in Ethan's hand and put it on the nightstand then hugged Ethan and lay down together on the bed. Aeturnus lay with Ethan in his arms and enjoyed the silence and warmth.

Aeturnus suddenly opened his eyes and remembered something then lowered his head to be at Ethan's face and said "Call me Tristan".

Ethan was surprised by Aeturnus' sudden speech and asked, "Why did you ask me to call you by that name?".

Aeturnus kissed Ethan's forehead and said with a smile on his face "Because that's my real name. I don't remember who gave me the name Tristan but I vaguely remember when I woke up that I had a dream that someone called me Tristan. I feel like that name. is a gift from my parents who I also don't know who and what I have parents. But I like that name because every time I remember my name is Tristan, it's as if I remember that I once had warmth ".

Ethan smiled and said softly "Then, from now on I will call you Tristan so that you always feel warm, Tristan".

Aeturnus smiled and kissed Ethan's lips "Thank you, Ethan".

As Aeturnus said, after everything was done, he returned to the main castle for a deep sleep. Ethan knows that he won't be seeing Aeturnus for a few years but he is sure that time will pass quickly and the two can get back together again.
