The Entry and drivers reply
Its the evening time I was in Abu Dhabi city(UAE).I finished my shift and I was waiting in the bus. At the same time a guy entered in the bus. He was a simple guy who was wearing an ordinary clothes and carrying a crushed Bislery type water bottle in his hand, generaly we drink water and throw bottle but I think he was reusing his bottle repeatedly so it was looking crushed. The guy was looking so tired and tensed, I was not able guess his nationality but as per his look but I am sure he must be from an asian country.
The guy went near to driver's cabin, in UAE buses the driver sitting area had a separate cabin so the guy went near to driver and so innocently asked "Ye bus Airport jaega kya" (whether this bus is for Airport) but the driver was not in a good mood so unwillingly he answered " Ni A1 Jaega" ( 'no' bus A1 is for Airport) after hearing this the guy said 'shukrahan' (arabic word for thanks) and silently went down and started waiting for bus no. A1. But he didn't know that A1 would not stop on this bus stop and he need to walk till next bus stop. I felt bad why the Driver didn't gave him whole information. Even there are many people in the bus who are able to understand and speak Hindi but no one informed him that he need to go on the next bus stop.
I thought I should tell him but got hesitated as I thought I am a girl what the other people will think that why I am so anxious to help a guy so I decided to keep quite then at the next moment I saw that guy carrying a lot of luggage. I just had thought about his family, his Mother and sisters are waiting for him in his home country, what will happen if he will get late and he will miss his flight ? whether he will able to book a new ticket he is looking like a worker who generally travel on the ticket provided by their contractor so he may be in great problem or it may cancel his visit also. In that few seconds lot of thoughts started running in my mind and at last I thought if the people will think wrong about me its okay let them think they will think for some time and then they will forget but now if I will not help him he will loose his bus and the next bus will be after an hour.
So I stood up and tried to go out but before that the bus door got closed, in UAE if the bus door get closed at once it will open at the next stop only, so I was not able to go out I looked at driver and sat down and become so upset and started regretting and blaming myself that why I took too long to take the decision, I need to tell him at the same time when he was going out even I was not happy with the other people who were sitting in the bus and avoided that guy. I was busy with my remorse and bus started moving at the same time I had a look at outside, I saw the guy was exact in front of me now I knew what I had to do, I tab my hands on window glass and fortunately the guy looked at me and without wasting any time I showed my finger towards the bus stop board at first the guy didn't understood but again I showed my finger to the bus stop board gave him the hand signal to move on to next bus stop then the guy turned back and he saw that board where the bus numbers are written there was only 3 bus number's are written " 33, 54 and 94" A1 is not written there that guy understood what I was trying to tell him and looked at me with a thankful smile and now bus moved forward and I was not able to see him when I tried to observe him from bus mirror he was talking with some other guy after that he started walking towards that next bus stop.
I took a deep breath now i was relaxed that I did it. I am just thinking that if I was not able to pass on this msg to that guy I was always with a regret.
Some time I think that why we people hesitate to help people if they are poor or not much attractive. I think we need to think about this because in such cases our small efforts mean a lot for them. Anyway I am happy that I helped that guy and I was able to convert that cursing moment to a good memory and I will always remeber that Bus stop guy with his smile.
